Matrixston Wow! Such a good movie.
Diagonaldi Very well executed
Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
teamcaryl Wow .... My head is still processing the utter mindlessness of the cretin who made this nonsense. I barely got through 20-minutes of it on Netflix before changing movies. What an utter mess. A ton of bad acting and sad directing, alongside horrible casting choices, characterization, script, and plot. Total crude and mindless humor at its dumbest. Completely insulting and shaming the classic series, which was a family-oriented show, and hugely entertaining. Bo and Luke were down-home good 'ole boys---not lust-driven, dimwitted playboys, always provoking brawls. Uncle Jessie was a God-fearing, rule-thumping fatherly patriarch, and Daisy was NOT a bimbo blonde, but an attractive, sexy brunette with real brains behind a pretty face. Roscoe and Enos were the comic relief, serving under the comical deviousness of Boss Hogg. Thank goodness I didn't waste my $ on a movie ticket, at its release. I'd have demanded a refund.
BA_Harrison Jefferson Davis 'Boss' Hogg (Burt Reynolds) intends to make a fortune by strip-mining Hazzard Count for its coal, but when moonshiners Bo and Luke Duke (Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville) get wind of his nefarious plan, they decide to throw a spanner in the works, with a little help from Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson), and Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter).I was never really a fan of the TV series of The Dukes of Hazzard, despite hailing from the South (of England, that is), so I'm not going to complain about this big screen adaptation crapping all over my childhood memories. I am, however, going to complain that the film lacks charm, a decent plot, memorable performances and any real sense of fun, director Jay Chandrasekhar merely going through the motions, delivering what he expects fans want to see, but doing so with seemingly little love, imagination or enthusiasm.Knoxville and Scott might get top billing as good ol' boys Bo and Luke, moonshine runners and general troublemakers of Hazzard County, but the real stars of the film are General Lee, their muscle car, which is involved in numerous silly chase scenes in which the vehicle continues to function despite preposterous chassis knackering jumps and crashes, and Jessica Simpson as delectable Daisy Duke, whose bodywork is absolutely stunning and who, I imagine, handles like a dream.
Terryfan The Dukes of Hazzzard is one of the most popular TV series to ever come across TV screens. The show brought some of the best characters we could have related to as well. Along with one of the most popular theme songs everyone knows by heart "Just the good old boys never meaning no harm".Along with the famous General Lee the car that fans know and love as well you can always be sure the Hazzard family is around. However this film is mix. I did see this one in theaters but it was mostly after Hurricane Katrina and needed something to keep my mind off the storms that hit my area so I decided to go see The Dukes of Hazzard. The film is nothing like the TV series at all which I know really anger a lot of fans. I can understand why I didn't like the fact the film feature a lot of bad language and jokes that were not all that funny. Some were funny but the rest really hurt the film and make you go what were they thinking. Also they change up the characters for the film to make them different from the TV series The film stars Seann William Scott as Bo Duke, Johnny Knoxville as Luke Duke, Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke, Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse. Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg and M.C. Gainey Sheriff Rosco The other characters in the film just pretty much add another minus to the film and shouldn't have never seen the light of dayIt amazing to me how far someone would go against a TV series to make it pretty much a let down for fans of the series. While there are some scenes that make the film worth a look and the soundtrack is really good with a mix of classic rock I just wish they did try to make it feel like the TV series because this film feature too much language and humor that shouldn't have been in the film I gave The Dukes of Hazzard an 7 out of 10
SnoopyStyle Cousins Luke (Johnny Knoxville) and Bo (Seann William Scott) are moonshine runners driving the General Lee. With their sexy cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson) and Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), they must save the family farm from the evil plans of Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds). With the directions of Jay Chandrasekhar and Jackass' Johnny Knoxville and Stifler, I had some outside hopes of a wacky outlandish parody. The concept was always questionable. The other way would be to go serious with more dark realism which I do NOT recommend. The original Dukes of Hazzard was more of a silly TV show. Trying anything serious would be perilous. Seeing who got cast, silly was the only hope. It started meekly with gun toting angry father and brother, a bar fight, and a General Lee jump. It's a weak parroting parody of the old TV show. Then comes the evil scheme and the movie loses any chance for a laugh. Unless you're a die hard fan of the original, there's no point in watching this. If you're a die hard fan, it might hurt your memories. OK! Everybody should avoid this.
