This is the story of the beautiful young Pervirella. Set in the mythical English land of Condon, the grotesque, power-mad Queen Victoria builds a wall around the country and establishes a "Monarchy of Terror." Intellectuals and "pervs" are prosecuted and killed, or driven underground to form the "Cult of Perv." Their leader, the Demon Nanny gives birth to a possible savior, then dies. The infant Pervirella grows to maturity with supernatural speed and shows amazing abilities, including raging nymphomania whenever her magical necklace is removed. Pervirella is sought by various rebels, agents of Victoria, the Cult of Perv, and a trio of witches. Eventually she teams up with Amicus Reilly, a James Bond spoof played to stiff, campy perfection by the late David Warbeck. Wild adventures ensue!

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
MartynGryphon Just under a year ago, I reviewed a film on this site entitled Silent Bloodnight. In my review I was scathing beyond belief and boldly labelled this movie as the worst film ever made. Stand back boys and girls because I'm going to print a retraction. Pervirella IS the worst film ever made and makes Silent Bloodnight look like The Ten Commandments in comparison.Ususally in my reviews I will give a plot outlay. However, from which ever angle you approach this movie, it makes absolutely ZERO sense. There's no plot to be followed, then there's the acting which is unwatchable. It's sad that this particular group of British filmmakers are sadly responsible for a series of badly written, badly performed and badly produced horror flicks, that have done nothing but bring the British Film industry into disrepute.I'm all for people trying to make movies that are a bit different and 'arty' and I'll usually welcome films of that nature. The makers of Pervirella tried to be 'arty' but succeeded only in hiding behind a surreal blanket of nothingness.Emily Booth is the reason I watched this stinker as she seems to spend most of the movie wearing either very little, or nothing at all. I'm all for that, I've fancied 'boof' ever since she was a game reviewer on British TV in the early 90's. So the only two reasons to watch are her breasts, The left one and the right one.For those that care, there are also fart-and-you'll-miss-it cameo's by both Johnathan Woss and Mark Lamaar. For those who don't, (like myself), there's always Silent Bloodnight to fall back on.Stick this one in the bin or wherever you feel it prudent.
jcps If you are a fan of Plan 9 From Outerspace, Troma, Russ Meyer and Terry Gilliam then this is a must see. This is what Barbarella would look like if it would have been directed by Terry Gilliam with 2 dollar budget. Some of the humor reminded me a bit of Peter Jackson's Bad Taste, but don't get me wrong, this one isn't filled with blood, guts and brains. Pervirella is filled with intentional bizarre and obscure, bad humor throughout the whole movie. Made with very low budget that they aren't even trying to hide, but instead underlining it to get few laughs. I'm fairly confident that this is a movie that most will hate, but then again I'm sure that this is targeted to a very different and certain audience that loves low budget camp b-movies and movies by Ed Wood, Russ Meyer, Troma Entertainment & Monty Python. And of course, the great and humorous performance of the divine Emily Booth in the title role doesn't really hurt it either
Cyclone_Chyno I have a friend who is one of the cult bouff fans and he loves this film. He loaned it to me in an attempt to persuade me to join the bouff cult but it pushed me in the opposite direction. On to the movie - where oh where oh where oh where do I start? Duff acting, duff script, duff effects that are befitting of this 'Z' movie. It is supposed to be an arousing comedy but it fails in both areas. If you have committed an evil sin and want to evil up the score with the almighty then watching this film will even up the score.
bechamel A duff attempt at reviving the British sex comedy, which just about survives by virtue of not taking itself in the slightest bit seriously. The theme that female libido can be positive and empowering is the only real similarity with "Barbarella" - although the outfits will appeal to men as much here as they did there! Harmless fun (but not too harmless...) and a film that would have a cult following, if it weren't so obscure! But enough about the film. This is really just a vehicle for the delectable Emily Bouffante (a.k.a. "Bouff") who has her own small but dedicated cult following among the further-flung fringes of British TV fandom.
