A gruesome homage to the cult Amicus anthology Asylum, Cradle of Fear unfolds four screamplays all linked by the unspeakable need of an incarcerated child killer to wreak vengeance on those responsible for his imprisonment. Helped by deranged angel Dani Filth, who leaves a trail of charnel house death in his crimson wake, the cannibal convict forces two Goth vamps to endure a one night stand from hell, two tough female robbers to see through each other, an obscenely rich coke-head to chop up more than a few lines and an internet surfer to descend into madness when he uncovers the ultimate web depravity.

Bereamic Awesome Movie
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
The_Movie_Cat It's really not fair to judge Cradle of Fear by the same standards as other movies, as the undisclosed budget is clearly minimal, and many of the actors and locations are there as "favours" to the director. Of the actors credited on the IMDb, then 11 of them have three or less acting roles to their name, with five of them having appeared in nothing more than this straight-to-video offering. A portmanteau movie in the style of the old Amicus pictures, it could maybe have worked if it was intentionally tongue-in-cheek. (Possibly it is, but the intent is so muddled it's never quite clear). Stuart Laing (Richard in the "sick room" sequence, one of the better segments) is one of the few actors involved to have a developed CV, and it does show. Wikipedia would currently have it that the film is "chiefly of interest to Cradle of Filth fans", though it's far more likely to attract a certain kind of clientele who wish to see TV presenter Emily Booth naked. On this level the film delivers, along with later gratuitous nudity of several anonymous actresses. That the likable but amateurish Booth gives one of the best acting performances in this film says a lot. Many of the cast wander into scenes like members of the public who are reading their lines for the first time.Direction, continuity and production are all, sadly, quite laughable, including a camera clearly in shot during one of Booth's scenes. Perhaps worst of all is a tinny drum and bass soundtrack which completely works against the supposed mood of the piece, be it horror or sex scenes. Segments might end with a girl getting a bottle unconvincingly shoved into her eye, the blood dripping and splashing over her undulating, bra-clad breasts, or a mutant spider- baby emerging from Booth's bare stomach and spraying blood in the mouth of her friend. Said friend's severed fingers do bring to mind Vyvyan from The Young Ones, and the only reaction this film could seemingly produce is laughter (intentionally or otherwise) or mild titillation. The concept of it somehow working as a horror movie is almost unthinkable.
Leofwine_draca CRADLE OF FEAR is a shot-on-video horror anthology film from cinema bad boy Alex Chandon, and starring Dani Filth from the heavy metal band CRADLE OF FILTH. Filth is clearly no actor and thankfully limited to appearing in the nonsensical wraparound story, so at least the viewer can watch the four main tales collected here without his presence. This movie was described as a tribute to the likes of the Amicus film ASYLUM, but viewers looking for similarities between the two titles are likely to be sorely disappointed. Because CRADLE OF FEAR is trash of the highest order: incredibly gory trash, it has to be said, but trash nonetheless. Every cast member gives stilted and embarrassing performances, the stories could have been (and probably were) written on the back of beer mats, and everything as a whole is a waste of time. The first tale is about a one night stand that goes horribly wrong. There's ample gore in this one, and some quite extensive nudity from the willing Emily Booth, and that's about it. The second tale is about two robbers who fall out and is merely an exercise in bloodshed. The third story is about a George Michael lookalike who loses his leg and becomes desperate to get another. Eileen Daly strips off for the role and there are some incredibly awful CGI car effects. The final story is about a snuff website and is the longest and most boring of the lot. Anybody who's a fan of the classic British horror anthologies of old, or even American ones like CREEPSHOW and CAT'S EYE, should stick to them...
lastliberal It may be that the best reason to see this film is the opportunity to get a really good look at Emily Booth, who has one of the best chests in the UK. I last visited her in the nunsploitation film Sacred Flesh, but some may remember her with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in Grindhouse. Her ending in the film cannot be described in word. Let's just say it involved lots of blood and a weird creature. But, that is just the start as much more blood will be spatter through this movie, especially in the second vignette, where a robbery victim just refuses to cooperate and die. And, it is not just blood spatter. Cat lovers may wish to avoid this film.
Claudio Carvalho In London, Detective Pete Neilson (Edmund Dehn) is investigating several bloody and gruesome murders with all the victims connected to the trial of the serial killer Kemper (David McEwen) that is interned in the Fenham Asylum.Melissa (Emily Bouffante) has one night stand with a sick man she met in a Gothic club and while going to the house her friend Natalie (Eileen Daly) on the next morning, she has the sensation that she is surrounded by demons. Sooner she finds that she carries an offspring of the man.Emma (Emma Rice) and Sophie (Rebecca Eden) go to the house of an old man to steal his money, but their robbery becomes violent when the dweller wakes up.Nick (Louie Brownsell) has a great complex with his beloved girlfriend Nikki (Melissa Forti) because his leg was amputated in an accident. He becomes deranged, gets a leg and forces his doctor to implant it, with tragic results.Richard Neilson (Stuart Laing), the son of Detective Neilson, works in an Internet company and becomes obsessed with snuff movies in a website, where the user can select the means of killing the victim, losing his job. When the site vanishes, Richard seeks information finding the truth about the movies."Cradle of Fear" is a collection of four original, erotic and gory horror tales. Using great special effects, performances and music score, sexy actresses and lots of blood, I liked very much this surprisingly good B-movie, but the Satanism used to entwine the four tales with the investigation of Detective Neilson does not work very well and is the weak part of the tales. The first story is certainly the best one, but I was really impressed with the excellent special effects that in many cases gives the sensation that the violence of the scene is for real. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Nascido do Inferno" ("Born From Hell")
