Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
ninasimone2018 Dissapointing also because the poor father got no sorry from the doctor...ok i guess that was the point of the story? otherwise agreed with the criticism of other reviews. very unrealistic script yet delivered very professionally so the actors saved the show. i thought it was watchable enough for those who like to examine people emotions. the father skillfully extracted the truth thanks to his misplaced anger and got his little revenge and the doctor got his punishment as his daughter is getting further away from him physically and emotionally. the three-part-drama examined also the issue of doctors humility and honesty is as important as their skills as surgeons too, no mercy lie or ego has a room in this one of the most difficult and admired professions.
Prismark10 Writer Mike Bartlett is an acclaimed writer for the theatre and hit ratings gold for his BBC series Doctor Foster. For this three part ITV series, Bartlett concentrates on the melodrama and the medical profession.A young boy is stabbed, a dedicated surgeon who is on call tries to save him. His distraught dad seems to be upset that the surgeon did not come back in five minutes to give him an update on his son's progress as promised. The dad walks in into the operating theatre while the medical staff are working on him. (He could had contaminated his own son with an infection.)When the son dies at the operating table. The dad launches a vendetta against the surgeon and his family but not against the perpetrator and his family. This includes getting a job at the hospital cafe to distract the surgeon, which he does successfully as the surgeon is now on edge. The dad walks into meetings that discuss hospital deaths even though he is not surgical staff. The dad uses social media to find out and get close to the surgeon''s family and threatens the surgeon's wife and daughter with a knife, because the dad is envious of the surgeon's lifestyle and wants him to admit that he made a mistake when treating his son.John Simm and Adrian Lester are fine actors but this was tosh. Simm's character might had work worries, then his son died but he was a psychopath. He showed no interest in the person who killed his son. Although not highlighted in the script, but the way he was envious of the surgeon's life choices he came across as a racist to me.The surgeon's family were not too bright inviting a stranger to their house.
jmccartaig John Simm (Bowker) spent the time searching for the truth whilst constantly lying. I think he should confront the person who is guilty of telling him he could act. The one star is for the house in which the surgeon lived.
chunkylefunga I was looking forward to this show as I like both leads but that's about the only good part of this series. The storyline is just implausible. I have family in the medical trade and they just couldn't believe how much the script just invented what would 100% never happen in a hospital.I understand that it's a drama but a little realism wouldn't go amiss. And that's just the first episode, which is actually the strongest episode. The finale really lets the show. There's a reason why it currently has a 4.1 rating.Just utter nonsense; so we've already invented what you can get away with in hospitals, may as well invent what you can get away with legally i.e. what the police will do.
