ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
ksenijamail Why cancel the show because of the actor who can be replaced? Just have some respect for the viewers all over the world and finish the story
leszek4109 This show may be to one's liking - or may be not, it's a matter of personal preference. I liked the show, that's why I persevered watching it, week by week - all 13 eps. Few weeks ago it became known that the series are being cancelled after the first season - ratings were not that great, but it was not the deciding factor (as everybody knows by now, CBS made the call right after sexual harassment allegations were made against the star of the show, Jeremy Piven). What I want to communicate in this review (one may call it a rant) - if you have not started watching the series - don't bother. There was no conclusion, no closing of any kind - total disrespect for viewers (I understand that 7.4 mln people were watching it, on average, in US only). The series revolves about the murder of Mia, a multi-billionaire's daughter - who's focus in life becomes to find her killer. His team is edging closer to get the answer, bit by bit - one may expect this will come to the fruition by the end of the season. Alas, we come away empty handed. The last episode (S01E13) is just another "monster of the week" story, with main theme (Mia's killer) almost completely ignored and left open-ended. It is such a disappointment, you feel cheated and disrespected. It's hard, in this situation, to rate the series objectively - but I know that I want to rate CBS 0/10 - this is not the first time they've done it, actually.
brendatajik I tried very hard to give this show a chance because the concept is so intriguing. I managed six episodes. If they' creators are smart, they'll find a reason to pull it down immediately and rethink their entire approach. Until then, I'll find something more interesting to watch. Perhaps Gilligan's Island.I'm definitely not an expert but I think this would work better set some time in the future. As far as the casting goes...Jeremy Piven, who I loved as Mr. Selfridge, brings nothing to the leading role. The role of the ex-wife played by Monica Potter (who?) needs to be dropped like it's hot. Everyone else tries hard but can't work with nothing.Good luck and farewell!
gwyllm Engrossing series. Love Richard Jones and Jeremy Piven; however I can't stand the Brit lady. Her accent is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Very jarring accent. Can't they bring someone else in for such an important role? The plot moves along in a steady building manner but when she starts talking it makes me aware I'm watching a TV show. Even another Englishwoman would be acceptable if the accent weren't as jarring.
