Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
atinder This was another show thst I missed, When it was on TV and I do not know how. After watching Chuck on Netflix , this was recommended next!I was not impressed with the first episode at all, I felt it was little forced at time as the season Went on, I enjoyed it more and more.I loved the first season , it had some very funny moments and some demons souls were great idea.I loved the fact that , more then one person was helping Sam There was some really good funny twist and turns in the series.I was little disappointed withe last episode , It kinda of felt like, there was a lot more they could done with.If felt like it was in middle of the story and then just ended out the blue.
stanio_w I like it. It's not the best, it could certainly use some work, especially with the special effects - It's not all that easy to make a low-budget action-comedy series these days, that's enjoyable or at least doesn't make you want to kill yourself. But the Devil is what will take the series to a successful and better second season. Don't get me wrong - the show is great. Main character, Sam Oliver, The Devil and Sock are portrayed brilliantly, and the other actors seem to match with their characters. Story starts of well, get's a bit slow for a couple of episodes, then it picks up again, gives us some unexpected twists, and just for the story(it got interesting) and the Devil(do I even need to explain why I like him?) I will watch the second season. And if the effects get better, Reaper might just hit my personal top 5 ranking...
grasshopper_60619 The television show is somewhat enjoyable, but I have some issues about it. First, the show's main character is in a sad situation because he is working for the devil. Second, demons and fallen angels are never righteous because of their natures. However, some of the plots are enjoyable because they remind me of the Ghostbusters movies and cartoon series because the characters used "vessels" to capture demons and send them back to hell. It is a similar pattern to the way that the Ghostbusters captured spooks through the use of ghost-traps.Therefore, I hope that the second season of Reaper helps to show that the characters have an encounter with God and Jesus Christ.
sisipie Truth be told, when I first heard of Reaper, I scoffed at the mere idea of this show. I was very bitter about the cancellation of Veronica Mars, and I couldn't believe this "junk" was taking over the time slot. I vowed to boycott The CW in some capacity. (I knew I would still be watching America's Next Top Model. How's that for solidarity?) In some way or another, I ended up watching Reaper--and it was really good. I'm pleased to say that it got even better as the season progressed. The "Escaped Soul of the Week" formula doesn't get stale thanks to rich subplots and character development. The cast does an excellent job. Bret Harrison is adorable and really good in this role. I guess I was used to seeing him play a goofball, so I was surprised to see him play so subtle. Sam is very likable. You really feel for him, as it seems he got a raw deal in life. Missy Peregrym as Andi is lovely and cool, but I find she can be a bit bland at times. (I would fault this more to the writing than anything else.) Rick Gonzales is funny and endearing as the anxious and worrisome but always helpful and very loyal Ben. There's been some great guest stars, too, like Patton Oswalt, Mercedes McNab, Melinda Clarke, Michael Ian Black and Ken Marino. But let me tell you about the scene-stealers here. There's Ray Wise, perfectly suited to his role as the Devil himself. He's wicked and charming, but very mysterious. He always has something up his sleeve, and despite what he says there seems to be some tenderness below the surface. And he's a sharp dresser to boot. Christine Willes, whom I loved on Dead Like Me as the perpetually upbeat Dolores Herbig, plays almost the exact opposite here as the dour and cynical Gladys. And then there's Tyler Labine. He's hilarious as Sock--a lot of the time his dialogue feels like improv. Much of the time I honestly can't tell whether he's saying lines from the script or not. But Sock also has a "heart of gold", and is immediately accepting of Sam's secret and ready to help right away. Tyler Labine absolutely steals the show here. This show has the perfect blend of drama and humor. I'm so glad that it's been renewed for a second season, because this season ended on some really interesting mysteries that need solving. Overall, I'm so glad I gave this show a chance. It's really wonderful. (But I'm still a little bitter about Veronica Mars being cancelled...)
