I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

Robert Ray Shafer delivers another great performance. I enjoyed watching his work. He has a larger than life presence combined with a great sense of humor. They Want Dick Dickster has a great story line with an unexpected ending. I can't wait to tell my friends about it (without giving too much away).

Bobby Ray Shafer has made a very funny, very entertaining movie here with "They Want Dick Dickster." Clearly leaning on his experiences in Hollywood, Shafer also relies strongly on the exploits of legendary Hollywood actors and directors to create a witty mockumentary about movie-making.Shafer shows he's not just a talented actor, but he also is a sharp writer has a keen eye for producing. The supporting cast also do a good job of making the movie a fun time. Jan Broberg in particular was fun to watch. This one is worth your time, for sure.

With the bleakness of "Hail Caesar" and the silliness of "The Room", THEY WANT DICK DICKSTER is anchored by a hilarious performance by character actor Robert R. Shafer (Bob Vance, "The Office"; "Psycho Cop"). Now have fun recommending it to people and having everyone think you're recommending a porno film. Spoiler alert: everyone's going to think it's a porno. And don't do any drinking games revolving around the utterance of"Dick Dickster." You will die of alcohol poisoning. Or embarrassment. Or both.

"They want Dick Dickster" is an irreverent spoof of the movie industry. Bobby Ray Shafer has created a hilarious script that is filled with his dark sense of humor. The film deals at least partially with the seedier side of the film industry, and does so with very little nudity and only slapstick violence, but plenty of purple language, so prepared for that. The film is done with "Blair Witch Project" style photography, which gives it a sense of realism. It also includes "interview" clips of various characters, all discussing why they want Dick Dickster. This appears to have been done to give the film a documentary look, and this was successful. From the characters' names to the spoof of splatter films, Bobby Ray Shafer and company have succeeded in creating another film that's destined to become a cult favorite, like Shafer's earlier "Psycho Cop" series. Shafer is a great actor with a black sense of humor and I found the whole thing to be sidesplittingly funny. I had belly laughs through the entire film, the first of which came even before the opening credits. I can't wait for the sequel!
