Dev Khanna The movie is based on a Shakespearean age stage actor,Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan).Harish also called harry, is a die hard fan of Shakespeare and thus aspired to be a successful stage actor at a stage in his life. In the last lear,after a long long time I see the character of the movie Harish and not Amitabh Bacchan because what Amitabh did was he became Harish and was not seen anywhere as the personality that he is.Amitabh Bachchan was at his best. Rituparno Bachchan,Amitabh Bachchan and Arindam Chaudhuri,very rare combination but done their excellent job in this movie The Last Lear.The movie is in English and i really like the way Shakespeare's art portrayed in this movie.

Gunik Kaur This movie The Last Lear is in English and i really like the way Shakespeare's art portrayed in this movie.The Last Lear has its share of engrossing moments.Amitabh Bachchan(Harry) lives for acting, loves theater, adores Shakespeare and absolutely detests cinema,while Arjun Rampal(Siddharth) is a a movie director.The director has taken all the efforts in portraying the characters in the rightful manner related to a Shakespeare drama that unfolds and does not have a dull moment ever.A very decent movie,it has been beautifully made by Rituparno Ghosh and should be watched to see the beautiful performances by all the casts...........

Nilam Rathi This movie The Last Lear may not be liked by the people who don't like art films but will be fully enjoyed by all keen in watching such art movies. The story is very good and so is the acting,direction and screenplay.Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah, Divya Dutta and Jishu Sengupta, this is one movie that can be considered as superb.The film has been made beautifully.It gives one the feeling that you are watching a Shakespeare drama on a screen and I am saying this from my own experience in not just studying some of the bard's dramas, but also having acted in one many years back.The movie is really nice and our Bollywood should also come up with this kind of stuffs.

Pryinshu Maheta The Last Lear is a movie that should not be missed by anybody.I really like the movie and i can watch this movie again and again.The movie is purely based on Shakepeare's play.The last lear is about Harish Mishra(Amitabh Bachchan),a retired Shakespearean theater actor who spent precisely more than thirty years on stage and then suddenly quit.He is immensely passionate about Shakespeare and believes that nothing even comparable can ever be written, knows all his plays by heart, lives in those stories, condemns modern cinema and considers theater as a much higher art form for directors and actors to convey their message to an audience. As the story unfolds, one gets to know Harish's relationship with Vandana, the reason behind his quitting theater and last but not the least the reason for his illness.
