In rural Connecticut, baseball players Ben and Mickey are trying to survive a zombie plague. They are forced to form a battery: a catcher and a pitcher who work together to outwit the batter, the one who hits the ball. And the batter in this case just happens to be a zombie. Tough Ben and gentle Mickey frequently disagree on the best way to go about the situation. Then they suddenly hear a human voice through their walkie-talkies. Is salvation nearby, like Mickey thinks, or is Ben’s suspicion justified?

Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Paul Magne Haakonsen Right, well I get suckered in by anything even remotely zombie, despite most zombie movies turning out to be bad, and "The Battery" was bad.I wonder what isolation the reviewers who wrote 'this movie is outrageously, insanely good', 'the first must-see zombie movie in a hell of a long time', 'truly amazing' and 'raises the bar' have been trapped in. If they think this was good beyond words, they are out of tune, pure and simple. Those above-mentioned statements were brandished on the DVD cover along with some nice-looking zombies. But lets stop right there! I got suckered in by false advertising so you don't have to. The aforementioned statements seems to be minted on a whole different movie, and t he zombies in the movie look nowhere near those on the DVD cover. In fact, the zombies in the movie were just people with really poor zombie make-up. But wait, it gets better, as you actually see a zombie woman consciously removing hair from her face during the motel scene. That was just so stupid. While "The Battery" offers absolutely nothing to an audience that crave proper zombie make-up and the obligatory gore, then it is disturbingly difficult to find anything worthwhile spending 96 minutes on suffering through this lack-of-zombies movie. The only thing that "The Battery" had working in its favor is the acting talents of both Jeremy Gardner and Adam Cronheim. But all in all, then this movie is not really worth suffering through, and if you do, then it is the type of movie that you watch once, then bag and tag it to let it collect dust on the movie collection shelves. This was a major disappointment and a slap in the face if you are a zombie aficionado like me.
angiedaylewis I love a zombie film and this is not just one of the best zombie films I have seen, but also one of the best films I have ever seen. I loved the relationship between the two main characters, I loved the beautiful rural setting, I loved the soundtrack, and I loved the ending. It had some great scenes, such as Ben's drink-fuelled dancing, Mickey's (unseen, only heard) forced zombie confrontation, and the final moments in the car. I know this is a film where not much happens, unlike the majority of zombie films, but I was engaged throughout. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Mickey's return at the end....I thought that scene would never end. Loved it.
white_water I want to start by just saying this is not a movie for everybody. Especially for the most fans of the horror genre. So many horror fanatics only watch the movies for the cheap kills and gore and The Battery barely has any of that. Instead it's very slow, not much happens in it and there's barely any zombies. It's two guys walking around. If that doesn't sound interesting to you just go watch some classic zombie film with loads of gore. The Battery is not a traditional zombie flick. It's a movie that's not even trying to appeal to a wide audience. Most of the viewers will hate it. It's a zombie movie that feels like it's made exactly for me. I'll watch anything Jeremy Gardner does after this.
GUENOT PHILIPPE At last a good zombie flick. Since a long time now. Since 2007 and the rebirth of the zombie genre with 28 WEEKS LATER - a terrific experience as a viewer - we found legion of not only zombies but zombie movies, and not necessarily the best ones. Most of them worth the garbage can. I love this kind of small production, made among pals for six thousand bucks, with a total freedom, and without f...executive to watch every move you make, evaluate how much toilet paper you bring to the men's room. All those jerks who know sh...about movie production, who hardly know how a set is made and who only watch the dol register. Those clerk pricks. Yes, I like this little feature, but I agree with another viewer, it could have been shorter, for instance seventy minutes. It would have been far enough. Sure, the character study is OK. Well done for such a tiny budget. A good little gem.
