AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Rainey Dawn The series is back on track here - this one, The Thirst, IS the sequel to the original film - NOT Part 2, The Tribe. This film actually continues the story of the Frog brothers and pays a nice tribute to Corey Haim. This one is a comedy - rather lame comedy but funny in it's way. Edgar Frog (Feldman) is a washed up vampire hunter, a girl has a brother that has become a half-vampire and get Edgar on the trail of the vampire group, plans on bringing the brother back safely by killing the head vampire - now begins our story.Yes there is some nudity and bloody - it's a modern film - yes it's a bit over done but I ignored it to watch Edgar Frog's journey. The 1st film 9/10, the 2nd 2/10 (only for Feldman) and this 3rd film 5/10 - mainly for bring The Frog back into the limelight again.5/10
GL84 Approached by a reclusive author, a legendary vampire hunter reluctantly helps her track down her missing brother who was abducted by a mysterious head-vampire looking to sacrifice him in an ancient ceremony and must stop it before it's too late.Overall this one was one of the best entries in the series with a lot to really like here. What really makes this one so much fun is the fact that this one really feels like a true effort in the franchise at getting the lead involved here from the start here and carrying the film throughout its running time instead of simply being introduced near the end to stop the threat. This full-on treatment is a lot more fun here since this one is littered with fine action scenes throughout here because of that, and this really gets quite fun here because of that as the opening attack in the government building and the first attack in the bookstore sell the idea nicely of the vampires here as truly vicious which forces him into action much sooner. The fun ambush on the trip to secure the weaponry is a great action sequence with the battles preventing them from entering and instead forcing the vampires to burn it down and bringing the escape which sets up the great action of finally dealing with them that makes this one quite fun. As well, the finale on the island hideout here is so much fun that there's several great moments here, with the suspenseful stalking in the tunnels sneaking into the facility for each team before-and-after the split, the first team entering the battlegrounds with the female vampires while the other team meets the bodyguard which results in truly fun times throughout in the vicious beat-down brawl that results here and bringing about the big confrontation in their second attempt to get in where the party is underway and the resulting means of dealing with the ceremony interruption and the double-cross afterwards is so much fun getting in plenty of spectacular brawling, fun sword-fights and letting the inventive weaponry that has long been a part of the series to come full- bore here in generating the final resolution here that's quite violent and bloody. Along with these elements, the great gore of the vampires setting up their hideout is a lot of fun and the rampant nudity all make this one quite enjoyable throughout here while really only giving itself one real flaw here. This here is simply in the fact that the big plan on the vampires here, sacrificing the brother in their ceremony, is never really given here as the true reason for his capture spells the nature of the double-cross but it still doesn't make any sense why he would be needed in the ceremony that spurs him into action in the first place. Beyond this, there's not much really wrong here.Rated R: Extreme Graphic Language, Full Nudity, Graphic Violence and drug use.
A_Different_Drummer Wow if you live long enough you see everything. When I first saw this attempt to refurbish and refit the beaten down LOST BOYS franchise (DTV no less) I was intrigued that someone had taken the time and energy to give new life to a franchise that was not merely dying a slow death but has also left Corey with the Hollywood equivalent of bad breath.Seriously this is a nice flick. As a TOP REVIEWER on IMDb (still not sure what that means, I think it means I like working for nothing) all the elements are here -- nice tight script, good casting, good direction, good SFX, some eye candy -- what more do you want? And I really liked the idea (props to whoever came up with it) of having Corey "growl" his dialog for the entire movie -- takes guts but it works! And to continue my opening sentence, I just finished Expendables 3 (another dead franchise raised from the dead) and wow if this is the beginning of a trend, some good movietimes are ahead.
Cobra1986 I must admit, my expectations weren't too high for this one after 'Lost Boys: The Tribe'. The film was entertaining for what it was, but it wasn't a "Lost Boys" movie for me. More of a modern update / remake that was marketed as some sort of sequel. Essentially it was like the first only not as good.'Lost Boys: The Thirst' is a whole different affair. It's very obvious from the get go that this is a movie for us FANS. With it's subtle reference of "Washington D.C......the other murder capital" within the first ten seconds of the flick. Here we have Edgar Frog, with a few problems. First off, we have his brother Alan "turned", and the fact that Edgar might also be losing his residence of living. Even worse for him is the fact that he's clearly grieving the loss of his friend Sam(Corey Haim RIP). So it's pretty safe to say all is not looking well for poor Edgar. But then comes a glimmer of hope in the form of an author of a series of books, who wants Edgar to help her get back her kidnapped brother from a group of vamps led by 'DJ X'. What's even funnier to me is that the author is clearly inspired by Stephanie Meyer(Of 'Twilight' awfulness). What follows is a very fun ride that is classic 'Lost Boys'. Lots of blood and a fair bit of humour. The lines just get funnier from Edgar. there is so many things I really liked about this one. For one, the plot was far better and even more surprising than I ever hoped. Of course there's a lot more to this flick but I don't want to give too much away. If you're a fan like I am then you should like / even love this one. One scene of note worth is Edgar's visit to Sam's grave. I was very surprised by it and it is a fitting tribute to Corey Haim. Even though Haim was technically still living when they filmed it, the fact that he died not longer after is a somewhat haunting thought in itself. Make time for it, it's a good sequel and it completely makes up for 'The Tribe'. I give it 9/10 for pure entertainment. It's not the best film ever, it does have it's flaws... but it's definitely better than 'Twilight' by miles. It's proof that real vampires(and vampire films)are still around at least.
