Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
lalityasripada Honestly I don't like Sonam Kapoor. And that was why I put it off even though I had this movie on my pen drive since ages. Out of boredom I've decided to give it a try. And it was definitely worth it. I won't comment about Sonam's acting skills. But other than that, the movie was a really good one. Never a dull moment. All the scenes were well balanced. Comedy was well brought out. A few people say it doesn't portray the classic well, but fun is there if all the movies are made alike. The title itself tells about the 'misfit' part. Sonam might be a troll when it comes to acting, but one should agree she's got a good fashion sense. Finally, its definitely worth a watch.
crossbow0106 This is not meant to be a great film, the storyline is not new and it is fairly predictable. However, it is still enjoyable due to the quick pace of the film and the general likability of the actors. Mili plays a physiotherapist who goes to Sambalgarh to help a Raja learn to walk again after he was in an accident 10 years before that killed his oldest son. However, he does not really want to try. Mili is a middle class doctor and is a "fish out of water" in such a prim, proper household. She speaks out of turn, acts way too familiar, but over time she becomes liked. She makes a difference in a family that finds it difficult to communicate with each other. The living soon is Vikram, and though engaged, he and Mili develop a liking for each other. So, its very enjoyable, and the pretty Sonam Kapoor makes for a very appealing title character. I'd also recommend it to anyone who wants to begin to try Bollywood films. It has appeal that transcends the setting of the film.
namashi_1 Loosely based on the 1980 film by the same name, 'Khoobsurat' is a decent, breezy watch, that has something for the romantics. Its not flawless, by any means, but it benefits from good direction & impressive performances. 'Khoobsurat' Synopsis: A hopelessly romantic physiotherapist meets a handsome young Rajput prince who is the complete opposite of her and engaged to someone else.'Khoobsurat' is a light-hearted, simple romantic-comedy, about simple characters, under circumstances of their own. Indira Bisht's Screenplay is nicely written, although the pace in the second-hour begins to lose. Also, 'Khoobsurat' overstays its welcome by at least 20-minutes. Some trimming, was strongly needed.Shashanka Ghosh's Direction is good. Cinematography is well-crafted. Editing is a weak link. The film is loose, at times. Music by Sneha Khanwalkar & Badshah is fantastic. Performance-Wise: Sonam Kapoor looks gorgeous & fits the role well, however, she's mechanical in scenes that demand her to flaunt her comedic side. Fawad Khan is wonderful, enacting his part with dignity & control. Ratna Pathak Shah is terrific, but its Kirron Kher who steals the show, with an electric performance. Aamir Raza Hussain deserves a special mention. He's first-rate!On the whole, 'Khoobsurat' has its own charm, indeed!
samitntina When one talks about Khoobsurat - there is an automatic remembrance of the classic Rekha film. What a perfect story and a lovable star cast. If Disney choose this movie to launch into Bollywood, what a pathetic choice to make. Sonam is totally fake in her acting and is extremely hollow. No plot or consistency in the plot - All the actors are uni-dimensional and lack character. Fawad is a chocolate boy but lacks any substance. His fiancé in the movie is adorable but alas as flat as the commercials she does. Gurgling wine, acting boorish and a loose Delhi girl and then suddenly becoming holier than thou after a kiss; people brooding for no reason, Sonam going gaga over a haveli which was OK looking - come on, Bollywood knows how to build the magic - and this is a Disney film for Christ's sake. The only saving grace is our Punjabi lady Kirron but her over Punjabiness killed any humor that could have been actually funny. I think ever since she has done the Punjabi mother role in 'Rang de basanti' she has been type casted to be the loud mouth crass punjabi mother which is getting to be a drag. The everything becomes hunky dory in the end is just a way of the director saying, I've nothing more to offer - please get out of the cinema hall. All in all, for those who have a low threshold of comedy and lack the discerning taste of a well spun story might find this movie entertaining, but I came back with a headache.Sonam - please for Gods sake, you are not a Disney princess worthy actress at all, so stop trying. I love your father, but you suck - go back to being fat.
