Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
jo-dotremont Being a climber myself, I was hoping to enjoy this movie, but as it goes on most mountaineering movies, the climbers make way too much mistakes to not be irritating.
Richard Desmond As other reviews have gone before, this film does pretty well in its opening scene, a tense yet enjoyable journey up a cliff face only to end in near disaster, setting the tone for the rest of the film....NOT. Some nice establishing shots. In a nutshell I guessed the ending less than an hour in(not that I'm trying to brag), I always felt one step ahead of the plot (NEVER a good sign). The acting was OK, the plot diverged SOOOOOOO far away from what would of made it compelling, interesting, original film, yet it fell into a clichéd boring ending, black and white in terms of the characters.....and just to put things in perspective....'The Descent' (a FAAAAARRR better film than this) cost just as much and did so much more with the idea of outdoor adventure gone wrong, interesting sympathetic/empathetic characters.....just let that sink in. AVOID THIS BAD FILM.
cmovies-99674 PROS: The build up of tension was good and the idea was good. Those two things together were enough for me to stay in sync with the movie. I actually really like the whole premise of the movie in fact. It takes basic horror attributes and combines them in a creative way like never before. As I watched I felt as though I ended up being one with the plot. I was thinking with the characters not for the characters, I was scared with the characters not for the characters, and most importantly I felt the same as the characters. This really helped the intensity of the movie making it scarier and more frightening.CONS: The most irksome thing that was done in this movie was to forget where the movie came from. The director had a great idea to start, and then tried to add more and fancy it up, which it didn't need. This really made the film confusing and unwatchable. I just got lost which is disappointing. The other thing has to do with the acting. Although some characters were extremely well crafted, others felt flat and boring. With such a large cast it is important, even if you don't have good actors, to have good characters. I can't even say this movie had bothwww.chorror.com
witster18 I usually dismiss small stuff like bad decision making and improbability when it's in small doses. I mean they are movies after all. BUT, this film is totally ridiculous. From repelling down a sheer-face-cliff with half the rope to reach the bottom, to not crossing a not-so-fast river, and not being able to hear someone 15 yards away, because of the 'fast-rushing-water'. It's truly absurd more often than it's not.THere are endless examples of this garbage in this flick, and the rest of it isn't much better. The acting is average, the story is just dull, the writing is deplorable, and the end-result, is perhaps the worst 6.3 movie I've ever seen.I'd pass. This sat on my netflix q for a few weeks. What a waste of space... and time.It is a very lonely place to die indeed. Pretty boy tumbles down a mountain, bashes into a tree, lands looking like and sounding-like he broke his leg. Gets up only to be running in the next scene and looking like a polo model in the face and clothes. I could go on... I'd rather not. Pass.I had a few good laughs, but I'm pretty sure this is 'supposed' to be a thriller. 43/100
