Protraph Lack of good storyline.
ShangLuda Admirable film.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Leofwine_draca With its supporting cast of faces familiar from British television, 7 SECONDS resembles nothing so much as a humdrum episode of THE BILL and indeed it has production values more in line with a TV series than a feature film. Stylistically, it's close to the kind of DTV trash Seagal has been churning out for years, a made-in-Eastern Europe thriller with an imported American star and not much else to recommend it.Snipes sleepwalks through his role of an art thief with a conscience and, for a film that exists solely due to his presence, he doesn't seem to have much screen time. He engages in a couple of fights and a couple of car chases but for a long time he's imprisoned and doing very little. It's sad when an actor's presence is wasted thus, because Snipes is by far the most interesting thing in the movie and the rest is just trash, clearly inspired by the BOURNE movies. The plot involves the hero and his allies being hunted down by various bad guys. This time around the baddies are Romanian gangsters, the usual street trash. Most of the characters are interchangeable and all of them are uninteresting. Tamzin Outhwaite is a well known face on British telly but seems severely out of her depth here and it's more than a little unusual seeing the likes of DOCTORS' Stephen Boxer and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE's Adrian Lukis turning up in minor parts. Best of the lot is Deobia Oparei who's a lot of fun as Snipes' buddy but that's certainly no reason to tune in to this bargain basement mess of a movie.
shortround8391 I have no idea why so many want to bash this film.....because it's Wesley Snipes? Because it's straight-to-DVD? This movie "7 Seconds" isn't that bad.....it's got some decent one-liner dialog, and some good thrills and some rad car chases.Since his trademark series "Blade" came to a close in 2004, Wesley has been really almost hitting rock bottom since then. He's been getting the same fate as Seagal and Van Damme only because no on likes martial arts anymore.....so sad. Its actually even more enjoyable to watch than seeing Rambo pick up a rocket launcher or firing those bomb arrows. And even more than Arnie getting his hands on a freaking machine gun and saying "I'll be Back" in a dramatic fashion. Martial arts is more worth watching because it's something that can be done and its a practice. So Snipes, Seagal and Van Damme seem like they would rather allow their careers to tank than give up their martial arts skills, and i praise all of them for that.Even though the starting scene might be a rip-off from the one in "Heat" (and yeah, they even take the hockey masks, lol), and the flashbacks are shown a little bit too much, but i guess its for a reason, to show who the characters are talking about, i guess. And also, Alexsie, that Russian gangster guy with Cerebral Palsy, is also a pretty interesting character, cause the actor does a good job of getting into him, and boy, was he INSANE.So come on, people....just give it a chance and give Wesley some of that recognition he deserves back. 'cause he doesn't deserve to be in this position.....
finitodistampare The script is full of common places and absurd dialog .I find myself laughing my head off with some dialog that was supposed to be serious . The 2 leads are alright but some of the supporting actors perform like "Look , I'm in a Wesley Snipes movie ". I think that Wesley Snipes really enjoy acting in these kind of movies and I like some of them but it's about time that he goes for a more dramatic role cause I consider him a very fine and excellent actor and some of his previous movies show. Still I have watch some action movies that are worst than this one . I think that the direct to video release is fair in this case , the movie is not that good .I will look for his movie Chaos then with Jason Stantham.
Wesley Shearer I'm not too sure if this comment contains spoilers so you have been warned anyway.I rented "7 Seconds" on DVD today. As I inserted it into the DVD tray, grabbed the remote control and layed back on the sofa I was anticipating an hour and a half of high octane gun-fights and car chases, a movie with an exhilarating storyline and some sublime stunts from the great Wesley Snipes. Is this what I got I hear you ask? Was it heck! From the very start of the movie it looks like a decent action film but I was hoping for a lot more. Amongst the midst of things there was - I think - two exciting car chases and some good gunfights...but nothing fresh and new. Just the same old. The plot of this movie seemed to be quite bland and again it seemed like your basic everyday action flick. Good cop (or in this case military officer) turns bad and runs off with the bad guy for them to live happily ever after with everything they could ever want...blah de blah de blah. So £3.50. Was it worth that amount of money and an hour and a half of my time? Well...yes as a matter of fact. There isn't many modern action movies around which could offer a lot more and I have seen worse! For a DVD Rental...yes. To buy...no, unless you like building up collections and see it lying in a bargain bin somewhere. An average film...average plot and average acting but I know Snipes can do better than this. So until he does then rent this and you can moan about how bland this film was later. My Rating : An average 5/10
