susannebondekanstrup What,s with the breathing and whispering ? Story is damn god, but actors NOT !!! And calling the name JAKE JAKE again and again ? Kiefer pisses me of, and I would like to ser this series with an other actor. Human responces NOT believable, over-acting, and no children would ever connect with eacother without knowing their agenda !!! This is a do-over !!!! Susanne Bonde Kanstrup, Randers Denmark.
Hamzah An amazing serial! Only imbecile people won't like it. Those who have written negative review about the serial please go through the other reviews that they have written in order to get an idea how pathetic is their choice! Most importantly it is a good serial to watch with the whole family. Everyone enjoys it. It is based on fiction but the Director Tim Kring has executed it perfectly.
youngmanviewer It seems quite a few viewers watched a few episodes, and felt the show was going to be an unending repetition of making number connections leading to feel good resolutions in random but connected peoples' lives. I wondered that for an episode or two, but thankfully stuck with it. I was drawn in by the questions raised, by the "off" demeanor of Jake's social worker, by little clues that things were just not as they seemed, by the mystery of the room across the hall.....I'm so glad I stuck with it. I really enjoy shows that have their own mythology. The eventual reveal of the 36, and the forces against it, and the forces for? (yes or no?) it, and the motives of all involved in trying to exploit the 36 made for a great show!
steel_indigo This is one of the most amazing TV series I have ever watched. I see that for most it is over their heads. I have a metaphysical background and understand about connections and patterns and how numbers are nothing more than another way of communicating and that many of them have definite meaning. This of course is a fantasy story but the overall premise is a good one. It is very sophisticated, mixed with everyday happenings. I worked with autistic children for ten years and they can do some very quirky things. Most are not mute and some of the things in the story line has to do with their sensory input which is beyond the normal range of things and specific to the story itself. All the actors have done a wonderful job. I would not presume to judge anyone's acting but I have to say Mr. Sutherland has done an award winning job. The boy playing Jake is outstanding. I like the interconnections of people. Those into metaphysics call them puzzle pieces and this show is showing them fitting together. It is very clever and the characters seem very real. I think Fox was remiss to cancel the show. It wasn't highly publicized so I am watching it after the fact and am sorry I didn't know about it sooner. The thing is I wouldn't have been counted as a watcher. They need to find a better way to count audience other than Nielsen. It just isn't accurate. I really don't think this would appeal to younger people and that they might review it or see it as boring or very unreal. It is not meant to be fact but a twisting of things that are based in fact and made entertaining. Having worked around the special needs children I know how cold bureaucracy can be. Loved this show and one of the best I have seen in a long time. Too bad they couldn't reprise the show.
