Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
Kirpianuscus First, I was seduced by subject. than, by the performance of Patricia Arquette. it is a serie about provocative theme but real exploring every day realities. that does it different. and special. the image of the bridge between us and the dead people is far to be original but, in this case, its use is more than inspired. because it is so simple to discover an ordinary wife and mother , with a special gift, fighting for truth and family and fundamental answers . short, a fascinating serie.
DonutLover It's improbable that a starring actress could not get speech therapy and learn how to say "district attorney" instead of districk attorney. This was like fingernails on a chalkboard to so many viewers, I'm sure it's why it was cancelled. Way to go, producers! It was kind of a fun show while it lasted and I had fun watching it with my daughter. Of course it was completely fake, no psychic in real life can see things like that. In fact, anyone who says they are psychic is lying because true intuits don't talk about it. And it ain't as jarring and obvious and glaring as portrayed in this show. Anyway, sorry she was never compelled to pronounce her boss' title right.
mathmaniac It's been more than ten years since the first episode of 'Medium' aired. It was one of my favorite shows - a mixture of horror, crime, and warm family drama. Today, watching the series on amazon instant video, the series is just as entertaining as it was when my kids and I first watched it. The parents in the drama, played by Jake Weber and Patricia Arquette, are reasons for the show's success, along with excellent scripts and plot lines. They interact in a way that reeks of verisimilitude and what we all HOPE could be marital communications. Joe is a little bit too adoring of his wife, Alison du Bois. Alison is a little too perfect a mom, rarely truly losing her temper with her three girls. Irritated, maybe, angry, not much. Still, they talk to each other like real people with jobs and housework and kids who need to be driven to school. This is refreshing. The episodes are built around crimes that make a person cringe. Pedophilia, kidnappings, rape. Murder is common, but cannibalism even makes an appearance. Every episode features lots of dreaming. Lots of dreams. Very cleverly done, very smart, very creative. But beware: some of the stories are moving and frightening and tragic, so your own dreams might not be so pleasant if you are binge-watching 'Medium.'An excellent dramatic series.
BaronBl00d Based on a real woman who has psychic powers that allow her to see dead people and then use this information to help solve crimes, Medium has a great deal to recommend it. We just do not get the story of this housewife, but the story of her dreams, her family, the effects of her dreams on her family, her daughters psychic tendencies, her amazing true love for her husband, her innate integrity to do the right thing, and of course the crimes and murderers involved in some truly spine-tingling, suspenseful stories. We get recurring characters from home, work, crime, and even from dreams. All this is glued together by the creative vision of the production staff and creator Glen Gordon Caron AND the absolute dead-on portrayal of a very underrated(and gorgeous as well as blessed) actress, Patricia Arquette. Let's talk first about Caron and crew. I marveled(often - having watched every episode - at the creativity in each of the stories, the writing, the quality of script, production, acting, etc... Sometimes a story would unfold in a very unique manner. Totally unexpected. The prevailing format was always there in some form but generally buttressed with amazing creativity. Arquette is a down-to-earth goddess. She is beautiful but not in that woman on a pedestal manner(model-type). She plays normal very, very well. This is good as much of the show(if not most of it sometimes) deals with her with her family. How many shows open with the main characters, bed hair and all, lying asleep and then abruptly awakened after some suspenseful dream or vision? Arquette, though put really in many, many unflattering situations, always was a beautiful woman - within and without. She also has the wonderful voice. Needless to say, she makes this show work, but she has a lot of help. All of the support characters are good, but Joe, her husband played by Jake Weber, allows it to work for Arquette which allows it to work for the show. I guess what I am saying is that this is truly a collaborative effort. As for the other performers, all of the girls are good(Maria Lark as Brigette is a real hoot!). Miguel Sandoval and David Cubitt are exceptional as the DA and a lead police investigator respectively. Arliss Howard, as Captain Kenneth Push, is outstanding in his three episodes(he is in the pilot). The show is filled with many great performances by many gifted actors - well-known and not so well-known. We get Tom Wopat, Angelica Huston,Tracy Pollan, David Morse, Mark Sheppard(as the truly creepy Dr. Charles Walker), Neve Campbell, Mitch Pillegi, Dean Norris, Kelly Preston, Kathy Baker, Kurtwood Smith(as FBI agent Cooper), and even Elvira makes a brief cameo in one episode. There are few shows I would - or could - say this about: I felt like the show was cut too soon and had a bit(quite a bit) more juice in it. I enjoyed seasons six/seven almost as much as the first season. It is just a real good program. One small dislike, and it is not the ending - I didn't have a huge problem with that though probably would have preferred something else - why in the world did they ever change the actor playing Allison's brother. He was played by Ryan Hurst - very well I might add. In the last season he was played by Patricia Arquette's real brother David. He was not very good I thought. At any rate I highly - very highly - recommend Medium.
