Synopsis

Set between the events of Star Wars: Episodes III and IV, the story unfolds during a dark time when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet and are ruining the lives of its people. The motley but clever crew of the starship Ghost — cowboy Jedi Kanan, ace pilot Hera, street-smart teenager Ezra, the “muscle” Zeb, warrior firebrand Sabine, and cantankerous old astromech droid Chopper — is among a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, they will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures, and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

Reviews

Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Metropolitan99 It took me the whole first season to warm up to this animated series, a sequel to the commendable "Star Wars - Clone Wars" -- an otherwise superb series marred by the all too frequent appearances of Jar-Jar Binks (the most obnoxious cultural artifact since the Lascaux Cave Paintings). But I totally fell in love with "Rebels" by the start of the 2nd season. The animation was beautiful, the characters were engaging, and the plot lines were very well executed. Plus I ADORE Ahsoka Tano, and she has a good number of appearances in this series -- so that's WIN in my book. However, this last season which focused on the struggle to win back Lothal (Esra's home world), placed far too much emphasis on the Loth Wolves, giant, sentient, force-infused creatures. As the final season progressed, this reliance on magical animals culminated in the absurd deus ex machina ending where these magical wolves and magical Purrgils (the space whales) sweep from out of nowhere to save our beloved heroes and crush the wicked Imperials including the mighty Grand Admiral Thrawn. So disappointing.Initially I was hoping that "Star Wars - Rebels" would be an adult animated series that could also appeal to children, but alas, it turned out to be a cartoon designed for children with some limited appeal to adult fans of the SW universe.
trnewreck Devoid of most mature themes this is a good children's show...ONLYThe Lion King had more mature themes, so i know its possible to insert mature themes into kids shows.first off the best characters on this show are Kanan and Hera...and followed closely by returning mature characters, which i wont spoil...i say this since, they are written like real people would be... not spastic children with intermittent amnesia, which itself seems to be dependent on the laziness of the writers in that episode. The show is way too inconsistent, esra is by far the worst abuser of the writing style for this series, his character is constantly inconsistent in his Morales his skills, one episode he'l be wiser and opting to save people, the next he's willing to let people die of starvation because something is "hard". This is lazy writing, the writers ruin any growth of character and progress with esra by suddenly making him buffoonish or goofy for the purposes of, usually a small non essential plot point, same with sabine although to a lesser extent. The show is devoid of mature themes and good writing, and thinks it can excuse that by saying "its a kids show" huh-ha!... And it is an excuse for poor writing as some of the characters that appear in the show, young audiences would have NO CLUE who they are or why they are there...they are fan service for the older audience.doing as little as possible and still claim its a show for all ages, which the producers have claimed. That is primarily what bugs most of the people that are fans of the old show, and why you see such bad reviews for it here. If your a tiny baby child(8 or 7) or a parent looking for a good childs show for your son/daughter its excellent...no killing, no mature themes, just shiny colors and sounds.... it is Y7 rating after allif your even moderately literate and read sci-fi books as a 10yo+ (like i did, not many tbh) you will find it bland comparatively , that's probably the second most insulting part of the show its so dumb even for a kids show, its a bit of an insult to a child's intellectlike i said in the opening "the lion king" had more mature themes. it can be done, they're just lazy, look at the production values as well....the animation is ghastly, the recurring VO's omg! are just annoying i swear there are just 3-4 storm troopers in the whole universe and they all quickly run around the galaxy to wherever esra is."we want a good show, but we don't want to spend a lot of money on it" seems to be the motto...
LeParas-1 The sole reason this TV-Show exist is to sell overpriced Chinese made toys to six year old's. Compared to the Clone wars this series is sub par in every aspect. It's basically the same old recipe from every kids show of the last 20 years. Only difference is the annoying Ezra Bridger with his teen angst attitude. Hopefully he gets killed of in season 4. Well, at least some could dream of.
Cabritoviskense Sukably Star Wars Rebels is a joke, it seems to be a good show when you watch the trailers but,it isn't, everything is childish, the protagonists never are in danger, the Empire military is made of paper everything the rebels do kills one imperial Stormtrooper or a star destroyer, most of the villains are a joke they are no threat at all to the crew.Thrawn has the most disappointing moment in the series, he is supposed to be a military genius, but (what a surprise) is a disappointment, he is defeated a lot, in the price of getting "valuable information" but when he needs to put this "valuable information" to work it seems like every other Imperial general could do what he did in season finale "zero Hour". The protagonists have a huge protagonistic shield, which defends them of everything, they aren't strategists, they aren't smart, they are lucky. Conclusion:Star Wars Rebels is a dumb show, with a dumb and lazy story made for children (of 8 years old max, because even my cousin of 9 years thinks this show is pathetic) or for masochist star wars fans.
