Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
Forumrxes Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
Hattie I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
SnoopyStyle A group of students at Upper Redwood High runs Radio Active, the school radio station. The group includes the wacky George Goodwin, the responsible Tanya Panda, the know-it-all Morgan Leigh, the money-grubbing Ethan St John, and the scholastically-challenged Kevin Calvin (Vik Sahay). Morgan's little sister Sarah Leigh (Vanessa Lengies) is always hanging around delivering the mail. Miss Noelle Atoll is the English teacher and Mr. Angus Noseworthy is the VP. The second season has the arrogant jock Blaire Resnickie and radio nerd Roger Richards join the group. The first season is functional although there is no romantic chemistry between anybody. The overall group chemistry is good which allows the show to work. The first season is a solid six. This is a teen show that skews more towards the kiddie side. Vik Sahay probably had better things to do and left the show. The two new characters start as off-putting and annoying. Romantic chemistry is barely improved but the group chemistry suffers. Caltabiano and Galianos are functional at their roles. Lengies is the only one who makes a name in her future career. It's a silly kids show. The first season is OK but the rest is not good. The second and third seasons are bland with anger starting from Blaire seeping into the group dynamics. The fun struggles to get out from under the general bitterness.
brownshuga375 I loved this show when it first came on YTV. The characters were so funny especially Kevin Calvin and Ethan St. John. When Kevin and Ethan left, and they brought those two new guys Roger Richards and Blair Resnickie, the show completely went downhill for me. I was no longer interested in watching Radio Active anymore. The comedy in the show started to get really bland. I know that Vik Sahay and Michael Yarmush had to leave because they wanted to go further into their career and that is a good thing. But unfortunately the other guys couldn't fill their shoes. Not to say that I think their TERRIBLE actors, it takes time to get really good. But they just weren't funny enough.I don't have a favourite episode in this season, because to me they were all great. They should put this show on DVD. If they did I would definitely buy season 1, only because it's the only season that I thought was, by far, the most superb.
Jacqui Potter Alrighty. This was one of the better Canadian children's television shows that was made. I think that this show was worth keeping on the air. It was funny, dumb a lot of the time, but funny, because of the acting involved. Comparing "Fries With That" to "Radio Active" I have to say that Radio Active was a lot better than Fries. The actors chosen were a lot better, the delivery was great, and the writing was perfect for the type of show it was. A comedy directed toward high schoolers, this gave a great laugh to all those in high school at the time it was running, and a jaw dropping look at the lengths a rotten teacher would go to to stop some fun. This show wasn't exactly the most dead on when representing high school life, but then again, what fun would that be? "Degrassi: Junior High" is a show that you can compare "Radio Active" with, but is more drama than comedy. Radio Active all in all, had good acting, writing and directing and shouldn't have been taken off the air. It could have been the actors and not the broadcasting company who chose to can it but what a shame. It's good that "George" is now on Fries with that, and is one of the reasons that I along with others watch that as well.
