Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
engelin This series is not at all anywhere near the books!!!!! Very, very disappointing, when you have read them!! The main character of Agatha herself is completely wrong. I don't understand how the author could agree to this 'man-handling' of her books. But I hope for her sake, she got a handsome deal, in spite of the awful end result. :-(((
felinetitanic Very enjoyable show. It has mysteries in the cozy style, kind of better than Murder, She Wrote. It is lighthearted, funny, but mysterious too. I'm always trying to figure out who the culprit is. The characters are so interesting, good actors, great interaction between characters. I like that she's not perfect, once in a while, she accuses the wrong person. With the clues provided in the show, you can try and figure out the culprit. I always wonder how Agatha can walk in those heels on those English brick roads. I'd fall constantly. She's always walking what appear to be long distances in high heels. I love her outfits. I like the interaction with her neighbor who sometimes helps with the mystery. She has a crush on him. In the books, he was married to a younger Spanish woman who leaves him but comes back occasionally. I don't think it is that way in the show from what I've seen.
wantourhouse M C Beaton's popular cozy crime novels are not great literature, but the book series is often witty and almost always enjoyable. They strike a chord with the same demographic that like Grumpy old men/ women, because dare I say, the readers are of the over 50's demographics who find elements of 21st century life absurd and perplexing. Agatha Raisn is a poster girl for the age group and hence the TV series radical departure from the novel is likely to alienate her fan base and unlikely to Make any new friends. It is not just the characters are at least a decade too young, and don't share any characteristics with the originals, however. The single biggest problem is that a whole novel is condensed into a 40 minutes episode that prevents any meaningful plot development. Gone are the source plots twists and false leads that form the basis for a detective story. The episode Hell's Bells was a particular low point, the biggest clanger was when the Bishop and Cardinal arrived to reprimand the Vicar Mr Bloxby. If I were him I would tell them to sod off! What right have they to swan in like Monty Python's Spanish inquisition when they are Catholic clergy (Judging by their vestments) and he is an Anglican minister. Tish tish wardrobe and art direction.
Jessica King Agatha raisin was a brilliantly British masterpiece ! Light hearted but addictive with real laughs and real drama. I would recommend anyone to watch, a welcome Tuesday treat ! Agatha moves to the Cotswolds where she is tangled up in murder and love ! She uses her people skills from her old PR firm to solve the village murders, while narrowing missing her own. She has great detective success but isn't so successive in love. Besotted with next door neighbour James Lacey Aggie tries her best to win his affections. Unlikely friendships with detective bill Wong Gemma and Roy silver help Aggie on her adventures and add laughs on the way.
