Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
retromanrussell As a Christian fundamentalist film it conveys the message that straying from God and the Bible leads to moral decay. As a Time Travel film it shows the difference between two eras. It almost seems like a religious version of Back To The Future 2, only this film is nowhere near as good. The dystopian reality of the modern era is probably even worse in reality than as portrayed in this film. To make it a family film for a Christian audience the swearing, violence and sexual deviance cannot be shown. So, it lessens the impact of what the Pastor encounters (life is worse than that).I'm not religious, though I largely agree with the film's view of the state of the modern world. I would have liked the Time Traveller to attempt to change the future, in a sort of reverse Back To Future. So, instead of having a professor telling Marty McFly to actively prevent tampering with the timeline of history, we could have had the pastor returning to 1890, telling of his findings and being sent back into the future by his fellow clergymen to see where the "rot set in" and watching his attempt to change it. An opportunity missed.
Christian Trailers I sell Time Changer DVDs at various churches each week, and many of my buyers list this as one of their favorite films. Many still come up to me months later to thank me for bringing the film to them. It has a touch of comedy, drama, and a Christ-centered message. I highly recommend it.Those who are into the "steampunk" genre, will love the look and feel of this film. Definitely work getting this DVD for your home library or church library.D. David Morin, Gavin MacLeod, Hal Linden are excellent actors. They really bring this Sci-Fi film to life. Kudos to them and also to Rich Christiano for this fun film.
Spineshivers This movie "lied" to me. I'm a big sci-fi buff and I was severely disappointed by this film. The tags say sci fi and drama. But it's really a religious, fundamentalist Christian movie. It flat out lies to people. The whole message is that everything was nice and cozy in the 1890s and now they're crap. Never mind that people aren't dying from diseases, have fast transport, roads, planes, the internet and all this wonderful technology. No, what matters is that some primitive minded people, just like today's fundamentalists, don't agree. The movie basically tells us that you can;t be moral without believing in God. It's abhorrent. I'd rather let my eight year old son see porn than this piece of trash. And even if you somehow find the stomach to ignore the idea behind it, the movie is still bad. Awful acting, script, laughable dialogue. Just don;t see it. It will waste your time. This movie is worth it just in case you're a fundamentalist Christian.
rachel-iriscelendine OK, I have to start this review off by saying I am an antitheist. I was raised Christian, dabbled in wicca, turned agnostic, atheist, then antitheist.I stumbled upon this movie as a total accident and watched it for a laugh during work. However, I totally loved it. The lead in this movie says things in a way that makes me feel the actor truly feels that way. He gets upset by the tiniest things and this movie is a total crack up. I found myself rooting for him, wanting him to succeed, even though his goal is something I do not personally believe in.If you are Christian, this is a great inspirational watch. If you're not, it's a great laugh and feel good movie.
