Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Ole Sandbaek Joergensen Strange, funny, weird, crazy, cult and a whole lot more are the words I could put on this, but above all something very different from what I have seen before. This is a bit too long, almost two hours, had it been a shorter one, then it might have held the standard all the way, but there was too much fuzz in the middle and towards the end.It is a strange movie, fun and weird, but all in all I think you have to be in the right mood and the right company to fully appreciate this one. One wrote that she saw it at Toronto After Dark film festival and I can only image that to be the right audience and the right place to show it :)
vampiri The zombie and vampire genre are practically dead (no pun intended) and I suppose their uprising during the last decade or so is soon to an end now that there is also a couple of TV series running. Do not take me the wrong way, I just love the zombie genre but still I have to admit it is quite hard to keep alive and interesting seriously speaking. We have also seen a couple of fusions lately as well, Fido (2006) which is a zombie drama of sorts and Warm Bodies (2013) which is a romantic zombie film. Both of them works just fine, but now these fusions have been made too.Plot: gulf war Soldier gets killed and by some voodoo rite, I assume, he Wakes up in his coffin back home in the States where his condition spreads. He tries to make the best of it but it gets out of hand. The Revenant works. It is funny, gritty and feels somewhat fresh. And it was fun to see David Anders in a Movie totally out of whack. His character and acting in this Movie is so different from his mechanical acting in Alias (2001) and Once Upon a time (2011).It is a bit too long and too slow at times, and the story is a bit thin. Okay, the storyline in zombie films are usually quite thin, granted, but The Revenant does not have an apparent one and has basically only a string of different scenes strung together. That is why, I suppose, it is listed as a Comedy/horror here on IMDb.The last half hour or so is the best when the pace picks up and the most funny scenes appear - the female-sex-toy scene is my favorite.I give it 6 out of 10, it is funny and somewhat fresh, but I prefer the old school style like Day of the Dead (1985/2008), the Return of the Living Dead (1985) and The Walking Dead (2010 TV series).
scottmannen1 This definitely turned out to be a non-typical vampire movie. While this one starts out very funny the story suddenly becomes very serious and dark. The acting was decent enough and the story was mediocre at best. I guess the bottom line is that for a vampire film fan like myself I found the movie entertaining and a good way to kill a few hours. THe movie is a bit long and at times the story seemed to drag on in certain areas. The film goes from being funny to being dead serious. It mixes in vampire lore mixed with some zombie plague. The real challenge I found with this movie is discovering where the heck did the vampire disease start from and how? Its evident that the protagonist gets infected at the very beginning of the movie, but what is the story of those who infected him and why hadn't the disease spread further in Afganistan where the initial infection takes place? Decent movie!
ebiros2 The movie was entertaining. This is lot to be said for a zombie movie. It has no apocalyptic theme to it like so many others in this genre.A soldier comes back to life, only to find out that he's now a zombie. He goes to seek help from his friend. Together they stop a robbery at a convenience store. Later they're mistaken for a crime fighter, fighting crimes in the city. Then things starts getting complicated. They should have followed the saying "better stop while you're ahead". Instead one of them loses his head, and gets into whole lot of trouble. The movie is a comedy, but has interesting story to it as well. Production, acting, and directing are all very good. It's a small wonder that this movie won an award at the Xanadu convention in Las Vegas. It's not a major movie by any means, but it's not a B movie either. It has good mixture of both, and is very entertaining.
