AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks

Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Grudge D. (nwkid) This is a great late night movie if you are a horror/mystery fan and if you can swallow a couple of clichés here and there. The ambiance in the movie is authentically creepy, with some decent jump scare moments. Both the actors (Jason Patric and Louisa Krause) performed their roles extremely well, their characters are believable and I liked the Streak much, because she was likable and very hot in some scenes. The ending was great and I don't think it was predictable. I would definitely love to see more work from this director and Louisa Krause in some different roles.
The Couchpotatoes The Abandoned, a title like that lures me to watch it. I should have read some reviews before even though most of the time I don't agree with the ratings on IMDb. This time I do agree. The story is just not good enough to make it special. And the ending is completely ridiculous. I was going to give it a five star rating if it was not for the end. The acting isn't great either. The dialogues are pretty basic. Besides an odd strange appearance every now and then there is not much creepy about this horror movie. The only special effects, if you can call them like that, are things that are a bit shaking or moving by itself. You have to show more than that if you want to make a good horror movie. A waste of time and money if you ask me.
a_baron Some people can't be trusted to carry out the simplest of tasks. Julia is a single mother who has obviously had a troubled life, possibly due to substance abuse. Her mother is threatening to apply for full custody of her daughter, so this is the last chance saloon. She gets a well-paid job on the graveyard shift guarding a massive deserted palatial complex that has never been occupied owing to the slump. There is only her and the time-serving Cooper, who is confined to a wheelchair. All she has to do is watch screens all night, walk about every two hours, and don't let anybody in. What could be simpler? And of course, on her very first night she breaks every rule in the book, but if she didn't there would be no film, would there? Cooper is of the opinion she will last a week at most, par for the course due to a combination of the boredom and his sparkling wit. As it turns out, girlie guard does have a pill problem, but not the recreational kind; she "sees things" others can't see, and the good doktor has prescribed these to ensure she doesn't continue to see them. Cooper is not impressed with her explanation that the things she sees are indeed real, especially in this vast empty building in spite of its past; apparently part of it has not always been unoccupied. There is a massive twist in the end which is open to interpretation or misinterpretation, but this isn't a bad effort considering most of the film consists of people walking around in the dark.
Willy Petrovich I am a horror fan and in my opinion this movie was pretty original and suspenseful. Yes there were some clichés but the concept of the plot is something unique for the genre. It is about a young, troubled woman who is doing a night shift in an abandoned building, with her supervisor. And what should be a routine task, soon turns to be a living hell. There is a surprising twist at the end, but I will tell no more about the story, because I don't wanna write spoilers. The director did a great job and there were some decent scares. Jason Patric was solid, as expected, and Louisa Krause was very convincing in her role too, who was completely unknown to me before watching the movie. Overall I would recommend it to all the horror/thriller fans, it is not a masterpiece, but it is certainly worth the watch.
