I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

I devoured the trilogy of books in a matter of days - the writing style and the story were excellent. *IF* you have the chance to get the books - read them before watching the TV show - they're so much better.I was so looking forward to seeing how the books were made into film.What a massive disappointment. The movies took a huge diversion from the original story. The first book covered almost all of the 3 books.I've just started to watch the second season and it's so confusing - has zero relationship to either book 2 or 3 and it's not easy to follow.I'm not even sure that I'll watch the rest of S2 given how this is starting to pan out.

I didn't know at the time I watched the pilot episode of this TV show that there was a book series that this mystery sci-fi show based on. I kept watching until the mystery revealed surprisingly after just few episodes in the first season and what made me keep watching not the mystery it self but what the characters would do! When you watch Wayward Pines after the "reveal" of truth you might feel sorry for the characters for what they are facing. You will keep thinking of the proposed solutions (in the TV show). The TV show should be ending with season 1, as season 2 did not present much to the mystery and the solutions (even though few episodes in season 2 were superior to some few episodes of season 1). Season 2 has few episodes "explaining and revealing" some of lose ends from season 1 and "explaining and revealing" other an unnecessary information.For now I can not compare this TV show to the book and whether the TV show was loyal to book content or not but in overall this TV series is good regardless of some irritating moments, characters, and decisions in it. If you decide to watch this TV show you will probably ending watching "characters" behaviors, few behaviors will make sense and lot of others might...not!

I really like the series, I find it very mysterious, suspenseful and just different from the usual shows that come out. The show is definitely underrated. The plot, characters and the environment make for a really great show. While season 2 may not have been as great as the first, I still really enjoyed it. I do recommend watching it. Please make more seasons!
