Details

The straight-to-video feature That Darn Punk was produced by a new film division of the Kung Fu record label, and its soundtrack features a number of punk-pop bands, some of whom are, naturally, signed to the label. Several songs were recorded especially for the film by bands like Nerf Herder, No Motiv, and the Vandals, while much of the material recorded by the label's own roster is exclusive to the soundtrack or at least previously unissued. Plus, there are a few cuts licensed from bands like Pennywise, Rancid, and Lagwagon.

Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
wright4978 A great band they are, hands down, filmmakers and great actors they are not. Plagued with wooden, disgustingly bad performances by pretty much everyone in the film, you don't watch to see what happens next, you watch because you feel so sorry and embarrassed for the "actors" that you feel you owe it to them. The movie itself seems like they planned on making a twelve hours film, then decided to cut it down to less than two, there are many jumps and plot holes (Whats with the aliens?). To give an opptumistic side, the Vandals are one of my favorite bands, and seeing them on the screen is almost worth sitting through this horrible tripe. The ending does hold a surprise, in true punk fashion, but thats about it for the goods. Only for the true punk or Vandals fan, and even for us it doesnt make for multiple viewings.
stediaboy All I can say is wow. From the storyline to the soundtrack. The cast were great especially Joe Escalante. It wasn't what I expected when I bought it, I can say is that it was better than my expectations.I loved this film and can't wait for Kung Fu's next film.
Kzinti9 I liked this film a lot because it was interesting and different in concept and form. A total pleasure to watch & there was just so much about it that set my imagination to blaze. With its great plot and acting it kept me in suspense & humor throughout. What a great combination and I highly recommend this marvelous movie. Totally excellent! Thank you for a great movie.
sheakat If you're into punk music and independent, low-budget films with originality, the movie 'That Darn Punk' has all the elements. As odd and quirky as some of the characters are, there are really people like them walking around who have not yet been committed to the local asylum. I've met them. Some of the acting could be better, but the main character, played by Joe Escalante of The Vandals, is very believable. The movie has a message and some good twists. It's entertaining with a great soundtrack and destined to be a cult classic.
