Kidskycom It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
rubleabigail This classic movie with my queens the olsen twins, was there for me when no one else was when i was a child. Everyone is saying that this movie sucked but that's because they have zero personality and respect for classic movies meant for stans of the olsen twins. I would watch this movie on rainy days when i was stuck in the house, and i would be at peace with the world for 91 minutes of my life, so to all the haters bop on out and accept that this movie is a bop/ classic. I have said my peace and i hope this review sticks with the people that have taken the time to read it for the rest their day.
JohnHowardReid A very entertaining movie, mostly shot on location in New York, delightfully scripted to take full advantage of the charismatic qualities of its young stars, Miss Mary-Kate Olsen and Miss Ashley Olsen, inventively plotted by Emily Fox, plus the team of Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, and most skillfully directed by Miss Dennie Gordon, New York Minute would seem to have every quality to assure box office success. Therefore it was a surprise to learn that the movie actually lost money and was hard put to recover even half its negative cost. Admittedly, thirty million dollars was most certainly a hard amount to recoup, but all the same it could have been done if both word of mouth and critical reviews had been more favorable. Generally speaking, audiences do not respond well to spoofs in the movies. They will respond to TV spoofs and, when radio shows ruled the air, listeners likewise responded equally well to their often totally ridiculous plots and screwball situations, But for some unknown reason, most people who go to the movies will usually not tolerate many of the screwball plot twists and situations they would happily applaud at home. Why not? Now if you could answer that one, you could make yourself a fortune as a Hollywood financial consultant. DVD available on a superb Warner Brothers disc with some really great extras.
cookiesmmmsprinkles So, I bought the movie at a local Blockbuster for my young sister, who simply adores ever MK and A thing (she sadly still hasn't seen Full House). I popped the DVD in, and was getting my hopes up. So...the film...Jane (A) is a hardworking, girly whilst her sister Roxy (MK) is lazy, rocker and school skipper. I personally relate to Jane more. Anyway, so they have a giant 'you-get-all-the-attention!' fight--which I semi decently understand it (being the youngest of triplets, NOT including the young sister mentioned). I think the film is appealing to young pre-teen girls, but will make girls the age of them in the film hurl, to be honest.
snazzy_pink My honest opinion, as someone who doesn't really have any negative or positive feelings towards the Olsen twins is that this movie was almost alright.Almost in that the idea was pretty kooky (ripped-off, yeah, but kooky non-the-less), and certain chunks of the movie were pretty palatable. I really feel that the main problem started to arise when Jared Padalecki's character joined the bunch. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Jared fan but I felt embarrassed for him during this movie. His character is just so empty. If I found twins in my hotel room (hot or not) I'd freak out, but Trey? Nooo, he starts chatting away to them like he's their best friend. It all became very awkward to watch - like "Am I supposed to believe that this would actually happen?".And then Riley Smith (Jim) was no better, both of the guys decide they like the twins for no reason other than their looks, there's no development at all (except for a few slow motion hair flicks) but suddenly the guys are following them around like love sick puppies. This is all fine for a PG movie (which it is) but I just think that if the twins want to be seen as adults, they're gonna need to start accepting roles in movies with a well-written script.
