Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Butter Ray When this film first started, I thought that it must be a sequel to some other film that had ended with a group of hopeful people escaping in a car. When it ended, I was left feeling that it needed a further sequel.I.e. it's the usual standard semi-boring second part of a trilogy, the one that continues the story from the first part and sets things up for the third part. Unfortunately (or perhaps not), the first and third parts don't exist. As others have said, and will say: a few good actors, a lot of bad script. There's no real MacGuffin, and even when something looks like one, it changes to something else.
trashgang Was I surprised to see Danny Trejo on a cover of a The Asylum flick. Surely on to pick up I guessed. Wrong. Danny is in it for 30 minutes and he's gone never to see again in this zombie flick. It starts all pretty well and rather gory for an Asylum flick so I was ready for a hell of a ride, and yes, it was a hell of a ride until the car running away from the zombies crashed on San Fransisco's Lombard Street. Pure CGI and yes, Asylum cheapie. From there on this flick falls down in a lot of blah blah and here and there some zombie attack but from here too the effects of shooting the zombies was done CGI. But it wasn't all that bad, here and there I saw some rather good effects too. But I can't say that this is a must see. It's a mediocre flick for, no pun intended, no brainers. Very simple story and nothing scary or special. Gore 1,5/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2,5/5 Comedy 0/5
bogie-749-302972 Well, not sure if this is a spoiler or not, but hey, it's not a _bad_ movie if you don't expect too much, and have enough cold frosty beverage.Seriously, it had a couple of decent actors (and the leads pretty much phoned in their stuff, so we can take them out of the Oscar possibilities, huh?), but overall, this was one of those things that cried out for excessive alcohol consumption. And frankly, the "good" acting was generally wasted due to directorial ineptitude. Yeah, Burton didn't suck, but gee, could someone make his character at least not all that predictable? And don't even get me started on the 0.5-dimensional Trejo character or Hemingway... I _wanted_ to like the flick. Zombies could possibly pose a serious problem if we neglect the possibility of an uprising. But NOOO.... We have movies of this quality to indoctrinate our youts with. Which isn't going to work if we are to triumph over the walking undead. So, if you watch this, consider it nothing but bland entertainment, with absolutely no training value.Seriously, worth a buck rental, if you got a good deal on the beer...
dvisner How anyone could attempt to put some sort of positive spin on this rotting can of garbage is beyond me. I, like several others, gave it a chance because of several cast members, but even their performances were atrocious. It was painful to see the chief engineer of the Enterprise used in such a meaningless role. Several of these actors are capable of putting in good solid performances, but not in this flick. Wow! What a complete waste of talent. At times I even wondered if this was some sort of attempt to be funny, like Neil Hamburger, but like him it wasn't. This is the sort of film that has you constantly looking over your shoulder because you're horrified someone might actually catch you watching.
