MusicChat It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Leofwine_draca JURASSIC CITY is another mindless Z-grade B-movie designed to cash in on the release of JURASSIC WORLD. I was surprised that it wasn't made by The Asylum or the Sy Fy Channel. The story is preposterous and involves a secret military experiment that releases a horde of ravenous velociraptors into a prison currently inhabited by a bunch of bimbo characters and the usual one tough good guy. A number of characters are munched in bad CGI effect scenes while old-timers Ray Wise and Vernon Wells are there to run around in an attempt to convince you that a proper story is present. Protagonist Kevin Gage delivers the most laid back performance ever, never showing a trace of emotion even when confronting his own seeming death.
unbrokenmetal 'Jurassic City' takes 3 young ladies into prison after a night of too much drinking and unsuccessful driving. Next door to them, a rapist and murderer is locked up. Just when they think it couldn't get any worse, a bunch of dinosaurs breaks into the prison. A politician unleashed them onto the city, believing that if he saves the city, he will be elected president. This cunning plan would only work if nobody ever asked where the dinosaurs came from in the first place. Anyway, the bad murderer guy takes a gun from the warden and start shooting the dinosaurs. A bunch of special forces tried the same, with more fire power but without any success. The 3 above mentioned young ladies now have to figure out how to get past the dinosaurs and the heavily armed madman...It's a rather crazy low budget action flick, but it was entertaining, I give them that. Compared to director Sean Cain's previous effort 'Jurassic Attack', the animation doesn't look as awful as last time, but that's probably owed to the darkness of the prison, mercifully hiding the technical weaknesses which were more obvious in the sunshine outside.
jean-philippe monteiro It is just wrong. CGI is cheap, monsters/blood/explosions don't connect to the set, to the lights; editing is awkward, sometimes a kill is full frontal, gory details and all, and sometimes it happens off-screen; story is as thin as you probably guessed, lines vary from utilitarian to abscond, with maybe an attempt at making it into genre sub-culture but unconvincingly so.And light/camera work is terrible: if you where willing to actually see the faces, the expressions of the people at work in front of you during one of those "let me explain myself" scene, you are out of luck one time out of two - which is, in these times of all-digital processing, kind of a shame. And it is full of mistakes, big and small, that you'll surely find a list of on this fine website if only people can be coerced to report on them.I hope the people who worked that film had fun, where getting paid and all that, and legitimately didn't hold too much hopes for the success of that thing. As much as I enjoyed Attack the Block, Pacific Rim or Independence Day or other stuff that people should obviously watch without taking it the least bit seriously, well, we are seriously into Anaconda III or various alligator/saurian Terribly Bad CGI siblings territory here; this is definitely no Snakes On A Plane.
orion_ss1 I really wanted to enjoy this movie. I am a big Monique Parent fan ( she played Scarlet ), but she only had a bit part, and not put to good use ( IMHO ). A couple of other faces I recognized but could not put names to until I checked on IMDb.I had put in a pre-order to get the DVD, and waited for its final release and arrival in my mail box.A HINT at a little girl on girl action, but, nada. Girls in bikinis but no T&A ( which MIGHT have made this bearable ). Most of the "action" ( and I use the term loosely ) is in a jail ( which is where the producers belong ). No spoiler alert needed; I fell asleep after an hour. I'll try again tonight. I'd recommend saving your money and wait to see it on SciFi or other cable channel.
