Detectives Jimmy and Paul, despite nine years as partners, can still sometimes seem like polar opposites—especially when Paul's unpredictable antics get them suspended without pay. Already strapped for cash and trying to pay for his daughter's wedding, Jimmy decides to sell a rare baseball card that's worth tens of thousands. Unfortunately, when the collector's shop is robbed and the card vanishes with the crook, Paul and Jimmy end up going rogue, tracking down the card and the drug ring behind its theft, all on their own time and without any backup—except for each other.

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Exoticalot People are voting emotionally.
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Aiden Melton The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
loz-87393 As a huge Fan of Bruce Willis I was just sorry at every unfunny line he was presumably forced to utter, and just when you think it can't get any less funny, Tracy Morgan does some odd, long drawn out episode to make sure it does. But the real shock for me was when the credits rolled up and Kevin Smith was named as the Director, I had to google it to confirm it was indeed 'the' Kevin Smith, I am still in shock.
MGOsborne Cop out - nice easy watching popcorn comedy. A movie for the end of the week when all you want is to turn your brain off. Like i said, easy to watch, however! Someone pedantic like me got very frustrated with the dodgy editing & poor continuity! No one enjoys jumpy scene changes or feeling like you've jumped across 2 minutes of the story because the editing has been cut together very poorly. A few laugh out loud moments - especially the reference to die hard at the beginning. Not Bruces finest moment in acting but Tracey was very funny. Would like to have seen a bit more of Adam Brody & Seann William Scott Seann WS a highlight Why do i feel like he needs his own spin off movie with this character!?! Lol. This film reminds me a lot of 'the other guys' or in fact any other cop buddy movie which makes it feel a tad generic. But hey, whats wrong with that sometimes! Ideal movie for a first date or Friday night chill I did enjoy this movie but its not going to make you have a moment of self reflection or change your life!
hall895 Cop Out is not a Kevin Smith movie. Meaning he did not write it. He was just hired to direct this movie, somebody else's movie. Bad idea. This movie desperately needed the wit of a Kevin Smith script. It could have used some of the outrageous moments Smith is known for as well. This script is safe, tame and ultimately boring. It's a movie about mismatched buddy cops which doesn't stand out at all from all those other movies about mismatched buddy cops. Anybody could have directed this thing. Smith probably wishes he hadn't.Jimmy and Paul are our two cops, played by Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan respectively. Willis totally mails it in. He's playing the straight guy but he plays it so straight he's bordering on comatose. And Morgan, perhaps overcompensating for the lifeless Willis, loudly mugs his way through the whole thing. At least Morgan is trying which is more than you can say for Willis. Unfortunately the material is so bad there's not much for anybody to work with. Jokes fall flat, gags are lame, there's barely a laugh to be had in this supposed comedy. Supporting characters add no support, the only performer aside from Willis and Morgan who is notable at all is Seann William Scott. Sadly he is only notable for how incredibly annoying his character is. Then there's the main villain, a drug dealer with a baseball memorabilia obsession, who comes across as more clownish than menacing. The plot, such as it is, is not particularly interesting, centering on Jimmy's attempts to retrieve a stolen baseball card from the aforementioned clownish bad guy. The action sequences? Well, let's just say that Smith is not much of an action director. Dialogue is his strong suit. Well at least it is in his own movies. This is not his movie. Nobody would want to take credit for this one.
SnoopyStyle Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan) are arguing NYPD partners in Brooklyn for 9 years. After a botched surveillance operation, they are suspended for a month by Captain Jack Romans without pay. Jimmy needs $48k for his daughter Ava (Michelle Trachtenberg)'s wedding. Stepfather Roy offers to pay and Jimmy takes offense. He tries to sell his valuable baseball card worth $83k but he is robbed by small time thieve Dave (Seann William Scott). Paul suspects his wife Debbie (Rashida Jones) is cheating on him with the next door neighbor Henry. It turns out that Dave sold the card to gang leader Poh Boy (Guillermo Díaz) who makes a deal with the guys to find his missing car.Tracy Morgan is going so wild that he's almost flailing for laughs. The chemistry with Willis never gets great but there are a couple of fun laughs. It's great to have Willis reference 'Die Hard' by claiming have never seen it. There are individual cute references and some funny moments but the overall sense is a mess of a buddy cop comedy. This could have been better with the talents involved. It feels like a comedy that is trying so hard that it falls flat.
