buff-flyer-456-854922 If crude humor and F-bombs put you off, skip this. If these things don't, it's a fast, funny 1-1/2 hours, especially if you're a teacher or have a relative who is one. It's derivative. It doesn't break new ground. But the casting is perfect, and the performance spot-on. You probably would have not wanted to pay to see it on the big screen, but as a rental, you'll LOL.
lymansterms 'Fist Fight' is good for the occasional laugh. Some of the Senior-class pranks are funny, in an Animal House, pie-in-the-face way. Charlie Day does a great job at portraying The Wimp. Ice Cube is the psycho Angry Black Man, in fact, everyone in this movie is a caricature of some sort.Loads of bad language. Strickland (Ice) stands for rules and order yet swears like a sailor at his students and engages in over-the-top intimidation tactics.I wouldn't even have bothered to review this film but for the Talent Show scene: Andy's (Day) pre-teen daughter Ally gives a foul-mouthed performance of something called Big Sean's "I Don't F**k With You". I'm not easily shocked, but this was filthy and stomach-turning; it is the Death of Innocence portrayed as a positive, self-affirming act.Had they left this scene out I might have given the movie 5 stars - it's that bad; kind of like watching your daughter dress as a painted-up slut for Halloween.
leddyfzm This is the kind of movie you watch if you just want to laugh. It's the movie you see when you have a bunch of friends over on a Friday night and you want to unwind. Will it win an Oscar? Not a chance, but it isn't horrible. The plot is pretty transparent and some of the acting is meh, but it's watchable. This just isn't the kind of movie that a critic even has to review, in my opinion. It'll never win over a critic who takes themselves too seriously. I agree with another reviewer that said this movie tries a little too hard to be funny, but you end up having a really great time watching it. It does have hilarious moments that make it worth watching.
gwnightscream Ice Cube and Charlie Day star in this 2017 comedy. Day plays mild-mannered, High School teacher, Campbell who endures a day from hell after he's challenged to a fight by other teacher, Strickland (Cube) whom he gets fired because of his violent temper. Campbell goes to great lengths trying to get him to change him mind, but toughens up in the process. Tracy Morgan, Christina Hendricks and Jillian Bell are also featured. This is a pretty good flick that makes an obvious reference to "Three O'Clock High," it's humorous and Cube & Day are great in it. Give this one a try at least once.
