zkonedog Despite the fact that Sylvester Stallone is a household name in American cinema, there is one galling fact about his career that cannot be overlooked: Besides the "Rocky" and "Rambo" series of films, nothing else he has done has really proved to be all that captivating besides just selling a few tickets at the box office. From gratuitous action flicks (Cobra) to comedy (Oscar) and even to drama (Cop Land), Stallone never was able to re-capture that Rocky/Rambo franchise glory.With this effort, Stallone dives headfirst into the "thriller" genre and ends up with a pretty decent film that could have even been much better if not for some uneven filmmaking.Basically, the plot of "Eye See You" centers on policeman Jake Malloy (Stallone), whose wife is murdered by a brutal serial killer that Malloy had been tracking down. After a bout of deep depression and drowning his pain in the bottle, Malloy heads off to a detox clinic, where he discovers that his painful past may not quite be done with him yet.Though I by-and-large enjoyed the movie overall, my first thought upon its completion was "there's just something missing, but I can't quite put my finger on it). Was it a Saw-esque police drama about a ruthless serial killer? Kind of. An emotional tale of a man battling back from his inner demons? Sort of. A suspense-filled action romp filled with gunshots and chase scenes? Most certainly...until the characters break to talk about their feelings, detox style.Usually, that type of genre diversity is great up on the big screen, but unfortunately in this case it just didn't come together. Interestingly enough, watching the trailer for the film will lead viewers to believe that the film is about something else entirely, leading me to believe that major script/character changes hampered this production from the get-go (perhaps accounting for a straight-to-video U.S. debut).Thus, while this film won't inspire you like Rocky or satisfy your action cravings like Rambo, it is still one of Stallone's more solid efforts up on the big screen (especially in the "later years) and provides enough interesting moments to avoid boredom. Check it out...if you can find it!

Sylvester Stallone returned to the screen after a three-year absence (excepting his voice work in Antz) with this tense and violent psychological crime thriller. Stallone really surprised me how good this movie was. It is very underrated and I think a lot of people did not watch it or like it. Well I love it and it is one of my favorite movies. I still love this movie to death very underrated Stallone's movie but is still very good action horror movie and it's a pretty decent. I also think Robert Patrick as Peter Noah did an excellent job even for underrated mystery thriller flick I love it.I enjoyed this movie its a decent watch and Sly was good in it. Whiteout with Kate Beckinsale is my favorite psycho thriller flick set in the snow, wouldn't mind checking out The Colony sometime even thou its got mixed reviews. The plot is about cops been trapped in a snow storm in a clinic for a cops, while the killer is among them hunting them. Survival is a killer. Recovering from the psychological effects of witnessing a brutal crime, FBI agent Jake Malloy checks into a rehabilitation clinic for police officers. There, stripped of their defenses, including badges and weapons, they can dry out and begin to face their futures. However, the therapeutic sanctuary soon becomes a nightmarish prison when a major snowstorm cuts off the clinic from any communication to the outside world. Patients begin to turn up dead amidst suspicious circumstances and it becomes clear that there is indeed a killer among them, and any one of them could be the next victim. As a whodunit, the movie is alright too. The story keeps you guessing who the killer is until just about the reveal. "Eye See You" is never scary and I don't even know if it's supposed to be. However, it's mildly satisfying as a gory murder mystery.So this is a film that definitely still stands the test of time and deserved much better. This film is very intense and you always seat on an edge, trying to figure it out who the killer is and how he was so intelligent. The film has a flaws, but been in the snow it is a still good film including with a perfect cast of actors and actresses. Yes I love this film and I don't care what anyone says it is not an awful film! It is actually good. jay_hovah703 As I was watching this movie, I thought to myself, "this movie is barely worthy of a DVD release. I would never have put this in theaters."Lo and behold, I was right. If my comment doesn't tell you of the quality of the film, try watching the five American Pie movies that went straight to DVD and you'll find out after the first 10 minutes of the first one. Like Eye-see-you, they are all available on Netflix as part of there ever expanding catalog of dung.Sly slurs his lines, per usual, which is all I ever ask of him. Everyone else looks vaguely familiar but I don't remember any of their names. Here's how I'll explain this movie. I literally think I've seen it before. But its an utter mess of a movie and people die in it so quickly its hard to even keep names straight.I therefore watched it again, thinking I'd ever seen it because of how confused I was by it. It was only in the penultimate scene that I realized I had watched it before. But it was forgettable. And I'll probably watch it again someday, come to IMDb and find out I've already reviewed it. drat.

graydon0 This movie, was, by no means, a masterpiece. It was a mediocre movie in a genre filled with mediocrity. But when I look through IMDb, and see movies with an equivalent rating (5.0) at the time of this writing, I'm baffled. This is far and away better than the majority of movies rated at this level.The good: It had me going. I didn't know who the killer was going to be, and I was interested all the way through.The acting was much better than expected, and likely better than most would expect. It wasn't great, but it certainly wasn't terrible either.The Bad: There was no standout moments in the script.Personally, I felt there also wasn't enough hints as to who the villain was, not enough information and misinformation available for this genre of movie.All in all, I enjoyed this movie casually. Don't go in expecting a wonderfully written or acted movie, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. By no means, is this a 5.0 movie, in comparison to other 5.0 movies on IMDb.
