Console best movie i've ever seen.
FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
SoupMelon Make no mistake, this isn't a great movie. Don't come in with expectations set by the classics, come in with expectations for a B movie, and you'll get that plus a little something extra. Boo does a great job of breaking pace with most horror movies, not taking itself as seriously as better ones, while still having entertaining scenes. More or less, you could say it's a popcorn flick. On it's good side it has a few characters that act decently -Jessie, Freddy, Caitlin, and to a lesser extent Allan, and two characters who play their parts great- Arlo and Nurse Russel. The first four, at least, aren't too terrible, and at best, can make scenes comedic, interesting or simply making them work. The second two are great for different reasons: Arlo being an aging cop with a tendency for great one liners and making otherwise boring scenes hilarious. Nurse Russel plays her part in a quite serious tone, with the twist involving her at the end giving the film more of a purpose in hindsight. Boo also has some few genuinely creepy moments near the start of the film, making use of Dutchess and the abandoned hospital to build some suspense and tension, and a clown scene that won't be kind to Coulrophobic viewers. On it's bad side, the two great characters don't get all too many lines though they make the most of them, the rest of the cast that weren't mentioned tend to sway between average (for a B movie) and slightly below average, and specifically for Kevin so bad it's hard to decide if he's trying to make his character that bad or if it's the actor. The creepy moments of the film unfortunately are mostly found, as said, in the first part of the movie. There's also some notable horror movie logic, though at least no one suggested "I think it might be best if we split up".Overall, this movie can be entertaining and funny if you don't take it too seriously, has some small spots of originality, it's own B movie charm and some of the best one liners to come from a B movie in quite a while.
fire-58 This is a bad movie. I even have a appreciation for low budget movies i really do, i have seen a whole bunch. The speed of this movie is very very slow in the start. Then just lags on and on.The funny thing about this movie is the quality of the film as in "filming process" in not bad at all. This movie looks like a real movie. That is why im so surprised that the story and the actors we not better.I have never gave a movie a 1 on here before. But i had to on this movie because there are a million reasons why this movie could have been better but it was not due to things that were very fixable. Don't even bother.
kali90210 ...but should have been better still. It might be unfair to do this but given the fact that the director worked at fangoria I expected something a bit more ground breaking. and the acting...oy vey.Making a movie is hard and the results do not always reflect the talent and drive of the filmmakers. That said, the film is technically solid and had the script and actors managed to make one care whether the characters lived or died it might have been a winner. Some good location work doesn't hide the fact that the only thing that livens up the pace is when another dull character gets offed. Dee Wallace Stone shows up briefly and one can only wish she'd been the major focus of the film but I suppose it's a hard and fast rule that all characters in horror movies must be teenagers.
BA_Harrison Written and directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, longtime contributor to Fangoria magazine, one might reasonably expect Boo to present a few fresh ideas along with its blood and gore; what we get, however, is a collection of tired clichés and well-worn motifs borrowed from a whole host of better scary movies that, when thrown together without much thought (as seems to be the case here), results in a poorly structured mess of a film that is unlikely to find favour with any but the most undemanding of viewers. As the title suggests, Ferrante's priority is to frighten his audience, and this he admittedly achieves with varying degrees of success through the use of cheap mechanical jump scares, the undeniably creepy atmosphere of his decaying, abandoned hospital (with flickering fluorescent lighting, natch!), some well conceived ghostly apparitions, and a lot of gloopy gore. Unfortunately, the total lack of cohesion and choppy nature of the narrative really detracts from one's overall enjoyment; well, that and the fact that the best looking girl in the film only gets down to her bra during the obligatory sex scene (c'mon Ferrante, surely you know that with this kind of cheesy nonsense, we expect there to be at least one topless babe!).4.5 out of 10, rounded up to 5 for IMDb.
