AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Bele Torso This movie was done on a 12 million budget! Are you kidding me??? The best 12 million ever spent on an action thriller movie. It is perfection. B-actors that give A+ performances. The acting is never over done, making the story very believable. There is a humility and sincerity to this movie. Dignity also comes to mind. Nothing is done over-the-top with lame CGI nonsense. The action is male perfection. Excellent pacing with no extended spoon feeding. I could watch this 2-3 x a year. Love it. HIGHLY RECOMMEDNED
McEwansExported Had high hopes for this given the real SEAL dimension but it was not the SEALs who let this film down, nor was it the cameramen but the plot and direction. It is nicely shot, good locations, albeit too many switches, and decent acting but the story was overkill and the constantly changing locations made it reminiscent of the the opening credits for The A-Team.The voice-over was distracting given the lack of emotion in the voice and the good vs evil characters was comic book like.Overall it came across like a cold war era propaganda film which I'm sure was not the intention as movie goers today are too savvy to fall for such attempts. I feel the filmmakers let the SEALs down and should have taken a leaf out of the Tears of The Sun playbook.
gamergcfan This movie has good intentions, and the casting of real life Navy SEALs allows for the movie to have very accurate soldier movements and actions. However, this movie has very, very little else to offer.Casting Navy SEALs wasn't the problem. While I can forgive the bad acting, for these Navy SEALs aren't trained actors, there are many other flaws to the movie. The neglect to what makes movies good was the problem. This would be a good movie if it had better storyline, script, and characters. Most importantly, it should be more enjoyable. If you're expecting a good action movie, no... It's mediocre. The only reason the action is better is not due to the good quality (the action quality is more like that of a TV show rather than a movie), but that the real life Navy SEALs add to the realism. There is a fair amount of action, but not a ton. Then again, it is only okay, for it didn't feel that engaging or thrilling. The drama is not good either. The script is really poor, and the characters are really poor. The drama even feels somewhat redundant at times. Most importantly, the overall movie felt more like a TV show rather than an actual movie.+ Incredibly realistic solider movementsIffy, uninteresting plotPoor charactersTV show qualityBad scriptLack of enjoyment and engagement value throughout, including the action scenesScore: 5 - It's debatable whether I should've watched this or not. The idea of real life Navy Seals playing this is cool, but as a movie, it is meh (due to the flaws).
Alenbalz If your like action and are patriotic, you'll love this movie. Supposedly staring real, honest to goodness navy seals, who haven't taken any acting lessons, so don't expect any great acting, it's supposed to be 'real' (in so far as it's still just a movie). The Story line is very simple and straightforward, no surprising twists or turns, only real events that prolong the action, and results in one mission after another. The movie shows that some men, place country and duty above everything else: this is what makes for a real soldier, someone who is prepared to die fighting for a cause, and like any other typical military propaganda movie, it casts the American soldier as the ''Good Guys" (it is an American movie after all) who really "kick ass", kill all the bad guys, who deserve to die, because they are a threat to the American way. The movie succeeds in emphasizing the point that only the American live's and the American patriotism and the American way are sacred and justified, and anything/anyone else that is different or holds different views is a terrorist and threat that deserves to die. So there is no compassion, Christian or humane, when we see one of the 'bad' guys killed by the patriotic American Seals, the flow of the movie is such that we are quick to dismiss them as evil, irrelevant people who deserve to die and who don't have family or friends who value their existence or would miss them and mourn their premature death. The viewer is prevented from even remotely considering that the 'enemy soldiers' might also be fighting to support and defend what they believe in (their patriotism and honor). Let's not forget that this battle/conflict is taking place in their backyard/country and not on American soil, so it might just be a case of justified self defense or an 'eye for an eye' by the enemy.
