StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
kas7145 I just finished the show and was SO pleased by it and equally disappointed that it wasn't renewed. It was sent to Saturday nights after just a few episodes.Problem one was -very difficult for a new show- you absolutely could not miss an episode and had to give the whole hour the attention you give a movie. Unfortunately when it looked very Da Vinci Code AND included Nazis I rolled my eyes and let it drop off the radar. As post-apocalypse and vampires and werewolves have taken popular fiction - fringe religion and Nazis tend to dominate anyone pulling out history with a hidden agenda. But when you really sit down and watch it has the religious acuity of Dan Brown, the murder-mystery feel of Agatha Christie or Poirot, and yet characters that demand enough sympathy, despise, conflict, or quagmire. Hank is a little too skeptical at times but it shows the human fault that he's holding onto reason with as much irrationality as the droves of priests want to call everything a miracle. This show had me begging for the next episode each time and I was really sad to see it go. Shall we all bombard the network clocks and see if they'll bring it back before these diverse and talented actors are snatched to another show?
marklewis-730-39586 I have watched a lot of movies about GOD and the coming of the Son Of GOD concerning the prophecies in the last chapter of the New Testament, this one brings it to life in the 21st century in a down to earth way and allowing for the viewer to know whats going on even if they have never read the book in there life. I have to say I am bias as I have read the book and was awaiting the next task as it should unfold and it provided me with everything I was wanting to see in the event the Son of GOD was to be preconceived in this generation. The show is full of action and suspense as well as light fun moments that can be shared with nearly the whole family, I would suggest that if your going to let anyone under the age of 15 watch this they first read revelations and garner an understanding of whats going on and why there is so much violence in the name of GOD going on in this show..
go-imdb-ca I've watched the first 3. I, unlike others, like the characters and it's nice to see Anthony Edwards in role again--since his days with Northern Exposure (I never watched ER). The young cast, most notably, Scott Michael Foster and Addison Timlin I find to be refreshing, both of which had a stint on Californication among other projects not leaving out that Scott worked on The River. Michael Nyqvist has chops...here in Canada he's been on Millennium but back home he's well known. His character is well acted and I feel that he brings the best out of Jacinda Barrett, she's no slouch herself.Carmen Ejogo; she's been around and can act. Here's where I have to complain; the writing she has to deliver is poor and her role could be a bit more stereotypical--but not much. Is the show going to win awards? Not yet for sure. But reading the other reviews made me want to say this: "Let's wait and see where this is going...". I truly believe that there is a lot more in store.Reading my own review I got thinking that I look like I work for a studio or some such--I don't. I simply don't find the show all that bad and it's staying on my record list for now.
alenresident This show tried to make something, but it failed in every way. I would like to describe this show as a mixture of National Treasure, Indiana Jones and Da Vinci Code. Why every TV show tries to show us apocalypse? Dumb references to Ainstein, Catholicism, and religion. Please producers, make something original, fresh and entertaining. This is just boring and will surely be canceled in the next 2-3 months. Shows like "River" that has been canceled showed some freshness in this genre. Characters are not developed well. Emotions between them are not even shown realistically. Why in every show, there has to be some intelligence agency. We all got bored of mentioning FBI or CIA. Make something new and fresh.
