Steineded How sad is this?
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
donizback This is my first review on this site; I have many, many TV series but I have to admit, this one is seriously one of the best. I am such a fan of British TV shows! The story revolved around a number of strangers, meeting online on a forum, discussing about conspiracies and a comic book they all know about. Soon after, things starts to get dirty... well, you gotta watch it to know more! This show, in specific, has made me question if all the viruses are man made. I watched this show in a week and I question everyone as to what they think about the idea of killing people by viruses. Also, I totally loved Alexandra Roach and Paul Higgins' accent. I always smiled when they were on screen. Adeel and Neil were fantastic! Overall, a great piece of director and cinematography. I hope to watch something as good soon!
Dalinouh sorry about my English.. When Arby starts asking this, the audience and our heroes have no idea who Jessica Hyde is :D .. can't enough of this show and we looking for season 3 in another way.. Why this show not more widely known and watched? Is it poorly promoted? Is it the violence and the mature adult content making the viewing public pass it by and don't watch? this is great show everyone should to watch Utopia. and decide with any side will stand in near future.*spoiler alert*The series tells the story about group of people who love graphic novel called utopia and agree to interview each one of them to claim that he owns the second part of the story that not been published. they find themselves in a hall of hell and spiral not out of them.. they discover that the story is true and that there is an organization called themselves the "network" seeks to spread the virus around the world, the group trying to revealed this organization and stop the plot.
vogonify This is an interesting series which has a lot of blood and ludicrous logic. It is gripping, for most of the time. The biggest problem it has it its characters. You don't really care for them or fear them, except one, Arby/Pietre. His is the character that affects and though not the fulcrum of the series, it is amazing how much emotional depth it brings to the plot. Unfortunately, you cannot say the same of the lead character, Jessica. She is quite unbelievable, literally. The difference between hers and Pietre's character is stark even though they are equally larger than life. You don't really feel for Jessica and that sort of winds the impact of the general plot. Another interesting part about this is the cinematography. It is extremely saturated and can catch your eye more than once, drifting you away from the main action. There are other characters too who are prominent in the two seasons. Most of them change traits over the course of the episodes and add to the general inconsistency of the show. It was good to see Paul Higgins get to play a character so opposite to his role in The Thick of It. He is one other you feel sympathetic towards but again, everything around him is a bit outlandish. Why then is this an interesting show? Primarily, the plot is quite attractive. It is mostly characters drive a story, and in such stories, they weave, what they call the McGuffins, in it somewhere and you ignore them for the greater good of the characters. Here, it is the opposite. The characters are the McGuffins.
SnoopyStyle Two killers go into a comic book store looking for the Utopia manuscript and somebody named Jessica Hyde. Becky is an orphan after the death of her father and she's trying to get the graphic novel 'The Utopia Experiments' funded. Ian Johnson is a nice IT guy. Grant Leetham is a foul-mouthed 11 year old boy pretending to be older online. Wilson Wilson is a conspiracy nut. Bejan calls on the followers of his Utopia forum to meet IRL. Michael Dugdale is a minor government official blackmailed to do Letts (Stephen Rea)'s bidding on a flu vaccine. The two killers find Bejan. They kill him but Grant steals the manuscript. They torture Wilson Wilson and pursue Grant for the manuscript. Then Jessica Hyde shows up.I love the start. Actually I probably love the show's music the most. The show is odd and quirky. It's violent. It's visually cool. I really like the first series. The second series tries to explain a lot and expand on the show. The problem may be that it's impossible to live up to the expectations built up over time. It gets a little convoluted and static. Also the logic of the show struggles more and more as more of the conspiracy is revealed. By the end, the conspiracy fails to impress me but it's still a fun ride.
