Synopsis

Classic Saturday-morning cartoon series featuring magical blue elf-like creatures called Smurfs. The Smurfs, named for their personalities, inhabit a village of mushroom houses in an enchanted forest. These loveable creatures are led by Papa Smurf and live carefree... except for one major threat to their existance: Gargamel, an evil but inept wizard who lives in a stone-built house in the forest; and his feline companion, the equally nasty Azrael.

KnotMissPriceless Why so much hype?
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
adonis98-743-186503 The Smurfs are little blue creatures that live in mushroom houses in a forest inhabited mainly by their own kind. The smurfs average daily routine is attempting to avoid Gargomel, an evil man who wants to kill our little blue friends. I still remember the days when School was over and i kept watching again and again episodes of 'Smurfs' a show so freaking fun, hilarious and with lots of adventure but also nice moral messages once in a while. Definitely a classic and well animated series that holds up even in today's worlds.... (10/10) (A+)
Catherine_Grace_Zeh I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. When I think about it, I only remember it vaguely, though. If you ask me, it was a good show. Two things I also remember vaguely are the opening sequence and theme song. In addition, everyone was ideally cast. Also, the writing was very strong. The performances were top-grade, too. I hope some network brings it back so I can see every episode. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I don't think I've seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.
Dr_Death666 Smurfs is a cute little show about little blue guys that live in their own little place. I thought this show would be corny, boring, animated cult TV show when I first saw advertisements about it in 1992, but when I actually watched it I loved it. It is cute, funny, and spawned some great Smurf merchandise (like the little-known Smurf Racer game for the PSOne) This is up there with ALF, The Chipmunks, and The A-Team as the greatest TV show of the 1980's. A funny show the whole family can enjoy. You should definitely watch this no matter what your age. This is one of the best TV shows ever.9.5/10 or: A
Bats_Breath This is one of the more famous cartoons of the '80s. Like He-Man, Thundercats, G.I. Joe and Transformers, this cartoon was pure '80s. The difference here is that Smurfs was a Saturday morning toon, opposed to being an after school weekday toon like the others. And it was probably the best made Saturday morning toon of the '80s. Waking up at 6 in the morning to see these toons was a treat that kids in the '80s will always remember.Wow I feel old because I actually remember watching the very FIRST episode of Smurfs as it originally aired in 1981. I must have been about 5 or 6 years old. It's a vague memory, but it's there. My older sister who was 11 at the time watched it with me with just as much passion and awe. I'm really surprised to find out that this series ran through the entire '80s and even into 1990. That's really something. No wonder this show has so many fans that are a lot younger then me. I always wondered why this series has so many fans so much younger then me, and finding out that "The Smurfs" ran into 1990 explains that part. I guess I thought this show must have been cancelled around 1986 or 1987, because I remember I stopped watching this show at that time when I was around 11 years old. It's a great toon and it's too bad they don't release these on VHS or DVD.
