Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
slicknickshady I was browsing Tumblr one day and stumbled upon some .Gifs and i thought to myself I have to check this show out. I then proceeded to watch every Episode on Youtube in a four day period.Seriously it blows my mind that Disney America did not pick this up to air like they did the first two seasons of Naturally, Sadie and Life W/ Derek. This show is really something else. The writing is Fantastic. The cast has amazing chemistry. I'm so fond of the friendship of Amanda and Wilder and how that developed into a relationship and subsequent of them ending up together. The ride isn't easy but you can tell they both love the other very much. The show is way more than the "three main guys ended up in Degrassi" show. This show is way better than Degrassi. The Latest Buzz is up there in my book with the Disney classics "Phil of the Future", "Kim Possible", and "Even Stevens" among others. And is up there with the newest Nickelodeon show "How To Rock".When a creator decides he want's to make a Teen sitcom. They should really take a look at The Latest Buzz for how to make a great Teen Sitcom.I'm just sorry i stumbled on the show two years after it ended. Better late then never. And Amanda and Wilder are firmly on my greatest relationships of all time list!
gcookie60 A while back, on one of those popular social media sites, I came upon some updates talking about a show called The Latest Buzz. Curious as to what the "buzz" was about, I did a web search. I was able to watch some episodes online, and liked what I saw so much, that I was able to get a copy of one of the seasons. I teach 9-11 year olds, and feel that this show is perfect for children that age, although I must admit, I really love the show too. The shows deal with many situations that children approaching their teens feel are important and can teach them valuable lessons. One episode that comes to mind in particular is "The Bullying Issue". You might think, what is new about that, lots of shows deal with kids or adults being bullied by mean people. Well, The Latest Buzz approaches it very differently. Instead of a character being bullied by a mean person who is outside their circle of friends, they show a different, but just as common kind of bullying, being bullied by someone who is your friend. This show tackles this difficult situation in a realistic way and gives children a realistic way to approach and deal with the situation, while still keeping the friendship. I have used this specific episode in my Character Education lessons, it's that good. Other episodes teach lessons too. Entertaining while teaching a valuable lesson... is there anything more important and needed in today's society?
juliabush-1 This show is so good, I can't believe it hasn't come to the States yet. Great concept--it's like "Friends" for kids--five teens working at a magazine, each dealing with their own column/topic. So they have the perfect premise for bringing together a variety of conflicting personalities. It's funny and sweet and age-appropriate and quirky and the kind of thing you want all the kids in your life watching. I love the teen romances, love when they sing . . . The actors are great. They're all going to go on to big careers. And the writing is fantastic--so witty for a kids show. We need a U.S. version please!!!!!Okay, because this thing won't let me submit the comment without a minimum number of lines, here's a description of the characters: Rebecca - sort of the sweet, nerdy, earnest girl Noah - sarcastic music guy - Amanda - rich girl - her dad owns the magazine - actually really smart and a good friend... when she wants to be! - also an amazing singer Michael - hilariously bitchy gossip guy Wilder - sort of a "Joey" type - dumb but super lovable DJ - their editor Mr. Shepherd - their media studies teacherLovable characters. Terrific show.
gemstone_opal i love this show, and everything about it is so refreshing and original. in contrast to all the other shows on Disney, this one breaks all stereotypes of having the same trio of friends-two girls and a guy...here there are five innovative children...Rebecca who covers student issues, Noah covers Music, wilder covers Gaming, and Michael keeps track of all the Celebrity Stats. Everyday issues are dealt in a different way, and the little spurts of romances are really sweet. How often does Disney come up with idea of journalists? It's mostly about normal children and their daily lives...here its about our budding journalists, and each of them cover different spheres of life. Admittedly, two-three episodes are strange and trivial, but rest assured, the Latest Buzz is a complete delight to watch, and i think everyone should watch it.
