Synopsis

Rules of Engagement is a comedy about the different phases of male/female relationships, as seen through the eyes of a newly engaged couple, Adam and Jennifer, a long-time married pair, Jeff and Audrey, and a single guy on the prowl, Russell. As they find out, the often confusing stages of a relationship can seem like being on a roller coaster. People can describe the ride to you, but to really know what it's like you have to experience it for yourself.

Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Spoonatects Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
Forumrxes Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Armand the balance between characters types is the magic ingredient of this series success. than - the inspired manner to present the couple problem as challenges, mysteries and keys for a form or another of happiness. a seductive series with a seductive David Spader who represents the axis of the crisis. good humor, small pieces of drama, honest fresco of battle between sexes and successful puzzle of situations. beautiful option for married people, it has a special charm. and that is only the first step. than - the childish solutions, emotions and decision. a series about difficulties of grow-up. sure, an inspired one.
Shopaholic35 I will really miss this show when I reach the final episode. It is the perfect show that you can put on after a hard day at work and just laugh at. There are no dark depressing aspects to this show it just aims to entertain with laughter and it definitely succeeds in doing that. There is a basic underlying storyline that helps to propel the show but it is more about the characters living out their day-to-day lives.Jeff and Audrey are my favourite couple and live up to their stereotypes perfectly. The beer- guzzling, sports-watching neanderthal with a soft-side and his shopaholic, emotional, nagging wife. It may be over the top but it works. The rest of the core cast is also entertaining and each play their part in contributing to a stereotypical world where everyone is funny.Try not to over think this one, just enjoy it for what it is and you'll find yourself laughing in no time.
tLburns_oh This show is too similar to "How I Met Your Mother." Like even down to some of the side characters; Mike (Jeff's lonely friend that sees him at a boat show 2nd season) is Marshall's boss, and the homeless girl Russell kinda falls for is Barney's ex girlfriend that made him the suit wearing, lady man. Jeff saying "Challenge Accepted" answering the phone "Go for Jeff," also a classic Barney Stinson. Russell has the sweet apartment, So does Barney. Russell is just a less amusing Barney Stinson and may I say less successful. I don't know.. this just seems like a rip off of "How I Met Your Mother."Jeff makes the show however, some of the stories are funny and likable.
amgreaves1 I am writing this review just to say farewell to Rules of Engagement. After a 7 year run they decided it ran it's course. Let just say that I loved the comedy and though many people said they couldn't stand the canned laughter, I mostly laughed when the laughter was queued. Patrick as Jeff was always so funny. His monotone and delivery of dialogue - perfect. One of his famous lines "Touchee"(sp?) or "well played" would always bring a laugh. Other great line: "super sperm", "shy dial", "Audrey is dumb", and "good advice Booger", among so many other great quotes. Jeff was just a likable guy. Megan as Audrey was the wife of Jeff. Audrey was funny, lovable, smart and beautiful. She played the role so believable as the career minded but wanted a baby lady. Girl next door likability. Her most noted lines were to Jeff : You're a jerk, or moron depending on the scene. And insulting Russell. In the diner: I wanted to share this with our friends...and Russell. Or walking into her house with Russell standing there: to Jeff: "Oh you bought me a garden gnome". Bianca as Jennifer and Oliver as Adam were great neighbors. Russell and Timmy as Adam's coworkers and definite comedic appeal were awesome. Various multiple other characters that reprised their roles were also familiar i.e. Liz.To sign off: Farewell Rules of Engagement thanks for the 7 years.
