Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
socalsurfkid The new MXC DVD is beautifully put together. the menu's are easy to navigate and breeze through. I just love how Kenny and Vic pop up and say funny snip-its. some of the challenges include "surfboard of death", "brass balls", "boulder dash", and "pole Vault". the boulder dash is just hysterical. the picture is very crisp and the dubbed VO is super clear. unlike the poor quality shown on spike, the DVD is really quite pretty. a must have in your collection if you like to laugh, cry or just need to fill a genre that you have not dove into yet. not sure about the rating on the DVD, but it may be inapropriate for kids under 13. however at a super young age they will not have a clue what is really going on in the dialogue.
brsurvivor And Takeshi Kitano is in it..that blows me away every time. He's awesome in Zatoichi, and BattleRoyale back to mXc captain teneal is great ..where'd he get that suit. what is the actual show about..because it cant really be postal workers versus school bus drivers, there's just noway.Do these people win anything, or is it all just for our amusement. id like to think that they just do it for fun. oh my god someone just got walloped by a big boulder..too much, the best is when they try to jump through the doors , when it's a real door thats the best,,i laugh just thinking about it. I want to be a contestant Long live Vic Romano.
mamaofsqueedunk If your sense of humor runs along the lines of ridiculous, unbelievably silly, and downright immature (like mine!) then you will absolutely LOVE this show! The Japanese "sports" challenges themselves are very goofy and quite creative. My favorite challenges involve jumping off a trampoline and trying to stick to a Velcro wall and running across huge spinning foam logs above a muddy water pit. Just watching the show on mute could make me erupt in helpless giggles, but what really sends me over the edge is the outrageous comments made by the voice-overs. The combination of the two is unmatched in television, as far as I'm concerned.Unfortunately, as far as I know, you can only see it on TV, since it hasn't released to DVD yet. I am fervently hoping it comes out on DVD soon.
michael_bourgon Here's the premise - take a Japanese game show, "aggressively" re-dub the dialog, and you have comic gold. The game show itself is basically reality-show-style comedy (jump from one stone to the next over a lake), but what really makes the show is the dialog. For instance - the hosts (all Japanese) are: Kenny Blankenship, Vic Romano, and (my favorite) Captain Tenneal. Half of you will get the Captain & Tennile reference, the others won't. Of course, the idea of the gentlemen having American names is also somewhat absurd. The whole show is like that. Once innocuous games (like the above) become "Sinkers & Floaters", with the goal: "get wet bad, stay dry good". The show is the "World's Best Game Show in Town!". Contestants get names like (in the "Wall Street" episode) "Warren Muffett", whose girlfriend mentions all the "bling blind" he gives her. People get jobs like "elephant fluffer". And, for those of you simply looking to see people get hurt, the very end of the episode features the "Top 10 most painful eliminations", which will have you wincing. In a nutshell - come for the painful-looking contests, stay for the clever, dumb comedy. Being shown on SpikeTV on Thursday nights. A+
