Reviews

GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
paulellerman After watching about 10 episodes of this show, I've noticed that I'm playing around too much on my phone and not really paying attention to what's going on with the show anymore. Masters of Sex is another tv show in a long line of period pieces that uses the day-in-the-life character drama where the plots seem to wander aimlessly and then disappear only to be replaced by new random plots - the exception being the ongoing sex study. It seems like every time writers make a period piece they follow this same standard formula, which probably appeals to some viewers, but personally I need more than this to sustain interest. Period pieces like Vikings and Downton Abbey were great tv shows because they didn't fall into this very overused standard formula and I think it would be really great if more period pieces tried to do something outside the box. Given that the premise of the show is sex, it seems like this aspect of the show should be more interesting, but after a point even this becomes tedious.
elizrug I thoroughly enjoyed this show. The characters were interesting, though not unrealistically so. I love the fashion, and seeing it change over time. I love how the characters were 100% in the part. I never felt they were letting modern society slip through in their gestures or expressions, like many actors do.I learned something from Master of Sex and it wasn't anything about sex. I learned that people from their generation just did not give a crap about their children. It makes sense, as my parents are from that era, and my childhood was a mix of them hosting cocktail parties or them going out or on business trips and vacations without the kids. It's like they had no idea what being a parent meant, and even though Masters finally conquers his fear of showing affection towards his son, I think most parents then didn't have that same revelation.
Erdem Hebele Masters of Sex was one of rare TV shows that had a refreshing approach towards human sexuality. I can even argue that it was somewhat educational even if we assume that it merely pushed people to read the books of Masters & Johnson. It did more than that but gradually the refreshing approach was bogged down by so many irrelevant, uninteresting, outright abysmal side characters and their awful story arcs.First two seasons were great. But then something happened and they shifted the focus from study to the relationships. I'm not talking about Bill and Virginia because they were already intertwined with the study obviously. Honestly I couldn't care less about Barton's ex-wife's open relationship or Virginia's annoying daughter and her weird rapey relationship with her disgusting boyfriend. I understand they wanted to show many "deviant" sexual orientations and relationships but they failed at that big time. Only exception that comes to mind is Betty's story which was excellent from start to finish, but they didn't even bother to give her a closure. This is unbelievably stupid. They wasted so many time with Barton in 3rd season and Libby in 4th season (all those hippy sequences, all those "romance" with that womanizer guy, ugh), but they couldn't give a minute to Betty of all characters in the last episode.Sad thing is, the patients of Bill and Virgina were more interesting than almost all characters except Bill and Virgina: The shoe guy, the husband lost it in the session because his wife wanted some rough stuff, the woman who wanted to be treated solo for sexual dysfunction and so on. What I mean is they were already into many sexual orientations. They were about to get into infamous homosexual conversion therapy too before it eventually got canceled. I am kind of sad that it ended abruptly but I'm not surprised. For example, the gridlock scene (which again doesn't contribute to anything and is painfully dull) must have cost a lot, I'm definitely not an expert on these things but it's not so hard to guess.Episodes should have been shorter, main focus should have been on the study, all time. They did good cutting almost all of the kids in the fourth season, but still it wasn't enough.
HeidiELove Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan star as pioneering human sexuality researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson in a 1950s-set drama based on a book by Thomas Maier.I liked this show from the beginning. A lot had to do with the period it is set in - it's flawless and stylish. There is a very interesting plot which makes it insightful and it is acted out especially by Michael sheen which i'm sure got him an Emmy Nomination. It's not all about the functioning of the female Clitorous….. it delves on the problems of homosexuality and racism at this time. Season Two has some remarkable new characters and is a lot more steamy in the sex line and gets onto the subject of the male and female "inability" to perform - in serious taste. But all in all a good show which is a quality 1 hour episode and it never has you bored. And yes that is the biggest Dildo I have ever seen. It's made of Glass!!!!!!
