Let's be realistic.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Quirky, a little out there, and weird characters that grow on you. A nice change of comedy where you can't predict the episode or action or dialogue.
Sound track and music is pretty cool

Not quite sure what to say about MAN DOWN?? Earlier episodes were really hilarious-- for the shock value alone. Not too crazy about the "DAD" character-- as he became more and more of a sadistic torturer of "Dan." In general, the show's humor was based on ridiculing and victimizing DAN-- and not by just one character--but they would gang-up on him--not very nice and hard to watch. Dan's self-denigration is not funny either as a constant theme? This seems to be a key element in ALL of Greg Davies work. Sad. Some elements are insanely funny--many scenes with Dan's Students are a riot. Especially LOVE "Dennis" -- insightful, outrageous depiction of a kid with a tough family life? But, Audience is laughing WITH Dennis--not AT him. Season 4 when Dan becomes a Dad-- is mostly awful-with everyone --his Mom, Aunt, etc constantly humiliating Dan- just a mob of bullies--and Emma, and HER Parents being vicious and mean to Dan--AND violating HIS RIGHTS as a Father? Nothing funny about that. Maybe these last seasons have been cathartic for the Writers--like Davies? But not much fun for Viewers. :(

I use to be a great fan of British comedies, but they seem to have written themselves into pretty much the same old characters. This show is no different than Doc Martin who is an unrealistic character and lives in a village/town with overly exaggerated quirky characters. The same goes for this show, some of the characters come across as real and odd, but some of the others just ridiculously overdone to the point of being childish pantomime. You often seen the same actors appearing in various British dramas/comedies as if there aren't any others available. Greg Davies is very animated and reminds me of a 12 year old boy showing off to his family and friends. You know the kind, "watch me, watch me". I think he should branch out a bit and write more versatile things. The Brits seemed to think poo and farts is just the funniest thing. It could be if done properly. I am disappointed in the standard of British comedy it seems to have lost its way.

As no-one has yet written a review, I felt obliged to begin.Having just watched the first two episodes, I can tell you, my cheeks are aching and I haven't laughed so much since my Auntie wet herself in Tesco.Greg Davies is utterly brilliant. Hapless, helpless and human. The interaction with the children had me shrieking and holding my sides. The casting of Rik Mayall as 'Dad' is a stroke of genius. Utterly bonkers and an uncanny resemblance.Imagine The Inbetweeners for 40-somthings, with a little Nighty Night thrown in.If you like Greg's stand-up, I guarantee this will tickle your fancy.
