Synopsis

Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire is a British-American comedic sword and sorcery series created by Peter A. Knight, co-produced by Hat Trick Productions and Media Rights Capital for Comedy Central and BBC Two, which premiered on April 9, 2009 in the USA and on June 11 in the UK. It began airing on July 8 in Canada, on Citytv. In August 2009, it was reported that the series was canceled after Comedy Central pulled out of the production, but the BBC has retracted this claim, stating that a second series could be produced if they were able to gain a new funding partner. According to Jimmy Mulville of Hat Trick Productions, "There is a bit of misinformation going on. As far as the writers and the controller of BBC comedy and the controller of BBC2 and Matt Lucas are concerned, we are developing a second series."

ThiefHott Too much of everything
Aiden Melton The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
MadWatch Krod Mandoon started out as an interesting premise, mainly a fantasy sword and sorcery sitcom. However it just becomes a platform for more anti-male/pro-female bullcrap that is considered "humor" in our society. In between scenes of fantasy style questing, scenes of medieval castles/towns and characters like warriors and wizards, are the messages that "women are awesome and sexy" and "men are idiots and buffoons" while pointing out that female sexuality is awesome and sexy and male sexuality is disgusting and ugly.I would have rated the show higher, but could not stand the misandric garbage. I had enough by the 4th episode.Next!
RogerBorg Each 60 minute episode manages to fit about 10 minutes of writing into what feels like a 4 hour marathon. Every so often, it raises a chuckle, but there's far too high a dross-to-gold ratio to make the effort worthwhile. The cast are largely unappealing, with the obvious exception of the banging hot India de Beaufort - it's just a shame that she can't act, and doesn't have a character to play even if she could.None of the cast are much cop, although Sean McGuire does at least put some gusto into it, and Matt Lucas and Roger Allam at least bother to phone in their usual competent performance. The rest of the supporting actors are uniformly awful, turning in performances that would shame an understudy in a village panto. The highlight - and this is faint praise - are the sets, which are a step above the usual BBC shaky-plasterboard. The cinematography is decent too, and the score isn't too out of place. Unfortunately, the sound mix is dreadful, with the dialogue far too muted and the effects too jarring. It's not totally unwatchable, but the problem the BBC have is that they're competing with hundreds of channels now, and it's much easier to condemn or ignore Krod than to recommend it. Doubtless they'll label it "cult" and hope to claw their money back in DVD sales, but they've blown too much of our license money on the budget and produced too little substance in return to earn the requisite credibility or goodwill. Krod's destiny lies in the bargain bin.
benji-71 The commercials didn't make me laugh but they did catch my interest. I had Tivo grab the first episode. I wasn't expecting much, but I soon found myself laughing out loud - a LOT. Krod Mandoon has quickly become one of my favorite shows. It's a campy medieval comedy packed with great characters. From what I've seen in reviews, people either love it or hate it. I think some people don't get that it's meant to be campy. It's not going to have a tight plot with brilliant acting - it's supposed to be a low-budget romp. Some of the moments of humor are totally unique, too - things I've never seen before, and they surprise me so much I have to hit pause so I can ROFL. Dongalor, the bad guy, is particularly funny. And somehow they managed to give everybody the worst hair I've ever seen. It's stunning. Anyways, I love this show.
temelianov It is an interesting series with a lighthearted take on medieval action adventures. There are interesting characters and funny jokes, but it isn't as well done as it could be. The story is a rehash of your basic peasant knight saves the kingdom type deal, and the actors don't give it 100%. The characters aren't very original, except for Anika, but she is far from a saving grace. I would liken it to Eragon with sex jokes and slightly better writing. I am sad that this series wasn't given more thought as it seems it could have been like the BBC series Robin Hood. Hopefully the writers pull it together and Comedy centrals audience doesn't give up on it very easily.
