Reviews

Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
captainsandwonderlands The first two seasons of Awkward are so so addicting. When I first watched this show I was hooked from the first episode. I first watched it around the time the first season had come out, then I stopped in the middle of season 3 because I became frustrated. Then recently I decided I wanted to see how the show kept going from there/how it ended. Boy oh Boy was it an emotional roller-coaster in some episodes and some episodes felt like disappointing rides. This show, similar to Glee, has its moments of predictability and showing topics such as sexuality/self discovery as main elements. Gonna address the things I liked a lot and the things that were irritating/ could've used improvement -Likes: -Jenna's relationship with her parents, more specifically her relationship with her mom. Though they disagree a lot and think differently, they have a unique and special bond that both of them treasure. They have a very open relationship and I love that. Throughout the series I think that's what has the best character development. In the beginning Jenna tends to get very annoyed by her mother wanting to know details and fix her hair but as seasons go on she's always going to her mom for advice and clothing help. Lacey(her mother) grows with her daughter and its beautiful. Also her Dad is a highly under appreciated character. Not only is he funny but a very supportive father and husband. Jenna bonds with her Dad easier then her mother and he's very good at showing Jenna that there's great in most people including whenever she's annoyed with her mom. -Jenna's friendship with Tamara and Ming. They have a very special and fun friendship that the viewer will find similar to some of their own friendships but also enjoy the quirky sides of their friendship that is unique to the show. -Jenna and Matty's relationship. They grow a lot as characters through the experiences they share together. Honestly at times Jenna did not deserve his sweet soul. -Jake. -Sadie becoming more complex. At first she's that typical popular girl who's rude but overtime though she's always sassy, you see her struggles with body image and issues with her mother. Her friendship with Matty is fantastic too and makes me :). Annoyances: -Jenna the entire third season. I'm gonna be honest during third season- fifth season she can be irritating but the third season really takes the cake. I was so frustrated with her for being with Collin and doing stupid things with him. He was an annoying character on his own. My other issue with Jenna is she is really bad with her feelings for Matty. Some episodes she's not dating him and gets easily Jealous when he goes after someone else, even though she likely will be dating someone else at the time that Matty's dating someone new too. She's very hypocritical especially in the third season. The most times I get angry with this show were when Jenna was doing stupid things for a boy. -Sometimes to unrealistic. Though this show is like most shows and has bits of realistic and bits of humor, sometimes it was to much. I gotta agree with another reviewer in that the characters seem to care so much about dating and hooking up but never mention school/electives as much. It gets tiresome during the third season because you start to think "omg we get it so and so isn't kissing you right now and you're upset. maybe focus on school?". -Though Val is a funny character, it can be annoying at times how much she doesn't act adult like. The students are always tearing her down as if she's the student. This show has lots of adult characters that try to hard to be friends with the kids instead of being firmer with them and sometimes that gets annoying. It was disappointing at times but always entertaining. Cheesy and ridiculous one second but very sweet and sentimental the next. Lots of laughs and it did make me cry a few times. This show never failed to make me laugh. Whether it was a witty line from Sadie or someone's facial expression id get a laugh in. I'm glad I did decide to finish it because I think the ending was a perfect way to wrap it together.
djbaby-68703 I love the show don't get me wrong. From T the BFF to Jennas Mom & the hilariousness that follows those great characters even the Counselor was hilariously fantastic, but can we have some more situations where Jenna sticks up for herself? She is too wimpy at times and blames herself where the other people in her life should be questioning their motives instead. It makes you want to yell at the screen and tell her damnit stop being a victim all the time even awkward people have lines to where enough is enough.
mojchy21 I believe this is one of the best shows for teenagers. Recently there has not been many goods shows on TV and I stopped watching them and focused all my attention on films - comedies and romantic movies. I have started watching Awkward at its beginning but stopped because I did not like the direction in which the story line went. But here I am again, watching the 5th season of Awkward.I am glad to see Jenna and Matty at the end together. There is also great atmosphere within the cast. Some lasting friendships have been made in this show and I really appreciate that I can still see the same people in 5th season as in season 1.One last thing I would like to say is to express that I love that great energy between Jenna and Matty. They really connect. They can date other people, but at the end they are still thinking about each other. In reality I do not get to see such great couples. I don't know. Maybe it is easier in front of camera than showing emotions in reality ? This show is giving to us romantic souls hope for a romantic future and I really like it :)
chammercado Awkward is the first show ever that had me glued in on my laptop since I started watching it! Episode after episode, the enjoyment lured me to never leave my bed until I finished seasons 1 and 2. And in those 2 days, I had the best laughs! Plus, Jenna and Matty together incessantly makes me smile, and laugh, and blush, and melt all at the same time! (i never knew that was possible). What makes this interesting even more interesting is that not a single one of the characters is dull and flat. I love love love all of them (especially Matty!). Each one is interesting and funny in their own unique ways, and will lead you to a trip down memory lane, all the way to the most awkward situations you got yourself into in high school! The over-all story is genius and very well-crafted. My hats off to all the people behind this really AMAZING show! Can't get enough of Awkward! Looking forward to season 4! and to more seasons after!
