Stellead Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Leofwine_draca TRANSMORPHERS is a shamefully bad knock-off movie made by The Asylum to cash in on the Hollywood blockbuster TRANSFORMERS. It exists solely to be put on video shelves where it can fool viewers into purchasing it by mistake, expecting the Michael Bay movie. This film was made for a pittance and features a handful of actors sharing dialogue in the gloom in front of a green screen. The whole thing looks cheap and nasty and is coloured a navy blue. Occasionally there's a bit of bad CGI in the form of a rampaging giant robot. There are no actors of note here and no discernable talent either; just mindlessness.
the_number-evil_d I just saw this jewel on Netflix. Firstly, I agree with some of the reviews people have written. I gave three stars to this movie, which is generous to say the least. It has bad acting (overacting) , bad story and just about everything else in this movie is bad. I'll only list the biggest problems.1. Budget was too low for this bold of a project. This is no Iron Sky, it also had a ridiculous storyline but had nearly perfect CGI that resulted in a slick final product. Transmorphers CGI looked like cartoons. Come to think of it, why didn't they try to make this as an animated movie? Based off the Transformers cartoon? Instead?2. Producers TRIED to take this movie seriously. It could have redeemed itself if the director had given into the ridiculousness and went more tongue and cheek for a campy feel. They had an attractive female cast (per IMDb profiles) but failed to cash it on them. (Only one semi scantily clad woman around 1 hour in.) A little gratuitous nudity and sex could have improved things dramatically. It felt like a porno-WITHOUT the porn. AND Amy Webber was even it! Remember her from Son of The Beach? She's still HOT, could have had a reason to have some PG rated bikini scenes! BUT NO!!!!!!!3. Lastly, people don't seem to be seeing this movie for what it was meant to be; a cheap cash maker, made to bring in some money off the popularity of Transformers. And it is what it is. I found it bad, but watchable. Most entertaining when viewed with a group of people to help heckle it, and alcohol.
Michael_Elliott Transmorphers (2007) ** (out of 4) The Asylum has made a name for themselves by releasing movies direct-to-DVD just as a "popular" film was hitting theaters. When THE DA VINCI CODE was released Asylum released THE DA VINCI TREASURE. When the remake of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL was released Asylum struck back with THE DAY THE EARTH STOPPED. Since you have the idea, this here is a rip of TRANSFORMERS. The movie takes place four-hundred years after humans were destroyed by alien robots and forced underground. After yet another defeat, Warren Mitchell (Matthew Fox) is taken out of the freezer in hopes that he can lead the people in a win against the robots. Even though the title is cashing in on the Michael Bay film, the actual story has more in common with Fritz Lang's METROPOLIS and Cameron's TERMINATOR series. I'm not quite sure why some people go into a movie like this expecting it to compete with a big Hollywood movie. That's not going to happen. This film reminded me of countless bad movies that were released to drive-ins back in the 50s and 60s. Films like FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER, PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE and various Roger Corman movies were made cheaply and often were cashing in on much better Hollywood pictures. With that in mind I didn't hate this film nearly as much as I was expecting. Yes, the acting is horrible, directing sloppy and the special effects are lame but they're all so bad that you can enjoy the film just by laughing at it. The screenplay is full of dialogue with characters standing around talking about what they should or shouldn't do. The dialogue talks about the past, the future and the present yet none of it matters because it never adds up to anything. It all comes off as just silly filler to take up time until the budget can raise enough money to have another action scene on their computerized effects. The acting is pretty bad from start to finish and at times it's rather laughable as actors try saying this dialogue. I will give them credit that they could keep a straight face while saying it. Wolf isn't too bad but you can't help but think he'd rather be somewhere else. Fans of Welles, Bergman and Kubrick aren't going to find anything worthy here. However, if you like really, really bad movies then sit back, drink a cold one and laugh away.
robodog-5 My eyes hurt! I think that was from trying to cut them out to end the pain. I should have known better due to the title but i though - its probably so bad its good right? Wrong. The worst crime is, the first VFX shot is awesome. no lying. And then the next one comes up and you go "ah spent it all on the first shot hey?". I also just want to point out to people that i want to live in the future and joint the military because it seems that you can make general by the age of 25 and command an air wing at 20. The best thing this movie has going for it is the hot chicks. There are loads of them, none of them can act, but they're porn star hot. I bet the girls have just made the step up from there. I would have loved to have been in the casting office for this one to listen to the producers list the merits of potential actresses. There are also 2 sets where all the set design money went to and they should be commended for that. There's a cool corridor that must have cost 100 dollars because its made of fluro and agricultural pipe cut in half but it looks really really good. is it bad? yes. is it watchable? kinda. Should i expect anything? i'll stop now.
