Reviews

Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
julied3-467-5547 I had this one on my list to watch for a long time, but I let the low user reviews and ratings sway me. Finally last night we watched it. SO good. It is a very different kind of ghost story, but full of surprises and creepiness. There were some seriously creepy scenes and I know I jumped several times. The antagonists were just obnoxious enough that you were happy to see them have some challenges. The ghosts were scary and unexpected. If you are looking for a fun scare, give this a try. Loved it.
Leofwine_draca THE VAULT is a B-movie thriller with a decent premise which mixes the thriller and horror genres quite well, in a similar way to FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. It starts out as a regular bank heist/hostage thriller, but soon moves into supernatural territory and becomes a mildly gruesome ghost story. The main problem with the film lies with the direction, which is never as good as it could be. The suspense is limited and the horror scenes anything but horrifying. What this does boast is a nice little cast which keeps you watching. James Franco is the star name but his screen time is quite limited; Taryn Manning and Scott Haze are the ones who stand out here, alongside an unexpectedly good Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint and possessing some of his quiet gravitas. And if the bank teller looks familiar, it's because she's the actress who played Pocahontas in THE NEW WORLD!
aark1996-597-626190 Caught this on the Flix last night. Big fan of James Franco, and was not disappointed. All the leads were great, and the screenplay was very tight. If you get a chance, watch this!! A really nice little independent film.
a_baron "The Vault" does not lack for originality, but as a lot of the action takes place in the dark, don't be surprised if that adds to the confusion. A gang of miscreants rob a bank first diverting the police and emergency services in a big way. Leaving aside their novel plan which includes taking hostages, you should never expect too much from people with tattoos on their faces, including intelligence. Added to this is the fact that nobody appears to be in charge, and they spend much of the time fighting each other.Hoping for a big payday, they are extremely disappointed to find only seventy grand in the vault, then one of the hostages pipes up that the old vault contains a lot more, like orders of magnitude more. He knows this because he is the assistant manager. In for a penny, in for six million dollars, they take the bait, but there is a lot more than money in the vault. Now we go from thriller to thriller mixed with horror. You can work out the rest yourself. Or maybe you can't.
