Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Wordiezett So much average
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
med_1978 I have seen this movie a few times now. If you are looking for decent pulp film noir in the style of the old Hardboiled ones from 40' & 50's there is not too much on offer nowadays. This movie is a decent way to spend 90mins.The love triangle has been explored many times in many films, so there is nothing fresh in that sense. However the performances are decent from all three leads in Particular the women. Kiefer Sutherland's performance is a little below par but still OK. The sexual tension is quite prevalent and simmers throughout, and other elements are handled OK.The only problem is that the pace does tend to drag a bit and the movie did seem to feel longer than the 90 mins. However it is still worth the rental price. 6/10
Benjamin Cox As IMDb seem to have misplaced my first review for this picture (silly them), I shall try again. I confess, this might be a little difficult having seen the movie once and some time ago but I shall try my best. The gap between film viewing and film reviewing might not be so bad if "The Right Temptation" was in any way memorable. But it isn't at all so please bear with me.Rebecca DeMornay plays an ex-cop with issues (and which law enforcement officer worth their wage doesn't have issues?) who is hired by the wife of Kiefer Sutherland (played by Dana Delany) to spy and flirt with her husband, as a test of loyalty. You needn't be a rocket scientist to work out that the whole thing gets out of hand and DeMornay ends up bedding Sutherland (all together now, "eeuuuew!"). But before you can say "no-nudity clause", a murder throws her life out of control. Yes, it really is that dull. And despite thinking that it's a classic piece of film noir, this is little more than a glorified TVM with a few big names in the cast to justify the budget.Acting is decidedly suspect, especially from Sutherland as the dumb sap involved with both women. He must give thanks every day that "24" came along to rescue his career from dross like this. DeMornay, to be fair, was getting long in the tooth by this stage and I certainly can't remember anything she's done more recently than this. The film is boring in the extreme - most wildlife documentaries are more interesting than this movie. And they're also just as predictable - it's almost as though the film makers were so scared of upsetting anybody that they ended up making the most middle-of-the-road thriller you can imagine. It's the movie equivalent of Katie Melua - safe, sterile and utterly uninvolving. Avoid.
mjstock For what must have been perceived as weaknesses in otheraspects of the film that would have given it the tension and grit thatit needed, the director substituted abrupt "high schoolish" boomsand crashes as well as foul language that just seemed to be outof place. Otherwise, it was a mostly unremarkable hour-and-a-half's entertainment. As one other reviewer noted, it is interesting (she called it "heroic"or something like that) the two female stars managed to bareabsolutely no skin in an "R" rated movie for reasons of "sexualcontent." Maybe Ms. Delany and Ms. DeMornay had "no nudity" intheir contracts because of their maturity and the ramificationsassociated with the same.
jackjack-2 This movie had the potential to be very interesting despite a poor performance by Kieffer Sutherland. The plot leave viewers in suspense until about ten minutes before it ended and then it just fizzled out. Either script writers and directors are ignorant of paraffin tests or they just ignore them. As a result the story gets forced into an unrealistic ending. The ending is hackneyed lacking any originality.Rebecca De Mornay was a good selection for her role but her acting could have been better.
