ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
pointhalf Sweeping a feat at the Oscars that only two other films have ever accomplished, The Silence of the Lambs keeps you on the edge of your seat. Literally. Or hiding under a blanket and a bowl of popcorn. The characters instead of making an eye line between each other often talk straight into the camera where you automatically are put in an uneasy seat. The intensity is directed right at you. And the story becomes more immersive. A perfect once in a lifetime combination happened when you get spectacular acting, writing, and directing all in one 2 hour time block...it still gets my heart racing. If you haven't seen this movie, I recommend it to anyone seeking a mental thriller. Perhaps once deemed gory in the early 90's, but by today's standard the film sits pretty tame but again mentally thrilling. There's no "boo" in this film. But you still might be brimming with fear by the third act. Enjoy movie lovers.
grabeeleverett I recently had the pleasure of watching this movie for the first time just today. And I had no idea what I was missing. I envy anyone who hasn't seen it. Everything about this movie is amazing, for one: the performances. This amazing performance by Anthony Hopkins is amazing and is like nothing I've ever seen before, he truly captures the fear of a real villain. Second, the story, this film is filled with moments where I was completely glued to the screen in suspense, something that rarely happens to me. I was completely captured by the idea of what scary or disgusting thing was going to happen next.WATCH THIS FILM YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
juanitacorrea The Silence of the Lambs directed by Jonathan Demme is close to a masterpiece. Expertly shot and acted this is another in the line of Hannibal Lectar films and arguably the most well-known. Anthony Hopkins will forever be known for his chilling portrayal of Lectar(he won an Oscar for this) and Jodie Foster once again shows why she is such a fine actress. The pacing is good and Buffalo Bill is a maniac you want caught, even if it means siding with a cannibal. To Demme's credit the film makes Lectar far more interesting than any other character despite the fact that he isn't in the film much. Great watch.
andrewroy-04316 The plot of Silence of the Lambs is something special. The layers to all developments as well as the depth of themes in each interaction make the book and movie exceptional. Foster and Hopkins do phenomenal jobs in their roles, and it is a well-directed movie. I don't think it's at all a scary movie or really thrilling, aside from the climactic scene in Gumb's house, but perhaps that's because I knew the plot from the book. Intricate and beautifully woven, The Silence of the Lambs is a brilliant, carefully crafted movie that effectively demonstrates the enormous strengths of the book.
