Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
christopher-underwood Very funny and very knowing film regarding the ins and outs of two couples' affairs, complicated further by those of some others. A bit of a Woody Allen movie with songs. Songs! Yes indeed, and the surprising bursts of musical numbers are not entirely unwelcome and are very well done with excellent dancing but they undoubtedly slow the film a little. Otherwise a near perfect film, in that it surely achieves just what it sets out to do. We are presented with some pretty well developed male characters, some gorgeous ladies; a lot of angst is mixed in and then some bravado and some spice. It's infectious, amusing, clever and always watchable. Says a lot, particularly about the male, in fairly short time and has us smiling throughout and laughing out loud more than once.
stevenfain This movie is well written, well directed, well acted, and fresh. The sex is integral to the movie, and only modest amounts of skin are shown. This is great comedy. It's subtle, and deserves a viewing. You are at first drawn into a plot involving infidelity, but the behavior slowly spreads to all four of the primary characters, and by movie's end the entanglements are complete and there is much fun to be had.Do rent this.
Remster A Spanish friend recommended this movie, so we decided to watch it. And it was great! I really didn't expect the musical-elements, they reminded me of 8 Femmes, and most of them were really funny. Especially Ernesto Alterio's song (the first) and Guillermo Toledo's version of ¡Salta! by Seguridad Social made us laugh outloud! My favourite part was the theatre-scene, where Guillermo Toledo unwillingly has a part, with a paper melon prop on his head, exclaiming "¡Soy el hijo melón, soy el hijo melón!" Hilarious! Guillermo Toledo's part is great by the way, he made me laugh lots of times with the situations he got himself into.About halfway through the pace slows down a bit, making some scenes unnecessarily boring and maybe even redundant, but that's just a minor thing, all in all this movie is a must-see! There's one thing that Spanish and Dutch movies seem to have in common, most of the time they show nudity during the first ten minutes of the movie, so does El Otra Lado De La Cama. Not that I mind, though ;)9/10
favo_86 the funniest movie i've ever seen, it's not a typical love story, it's politically incorrect, unusual and it has no taboos. some people may find it obscene, pornographic or bad-mannered. the truth is that this movie is a great example of comedy, funny but not senseless like austin powers or torrente(which are funny but don't have any kind of plot. this one is a serious musical movie with an interesting plot and some great rock songs on it. i would recommend it to everyone who wants to spend a nice time. if catholic church told us not to see it it must be good, funny and modern.
