FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Craig Parmisan It doesn't have the big production feel but it delivers 100% on it's billed genre. No time is wasted in giving an action packed story to the audience. The Shaky cam is a bit off putting initially but it quickly ties in to the fast pace of the movie. The cast is small but talented as will be appreciated in the fight scenes.Overall it isn't very flashy at all but if you are a fan of shows like The Unit and 24, you will definitely enjoy the film.
josephgdeka Was there ever a VanDamme, Seagal, or Schwartzneggar movie with a great plot? Face it, we only give 10's to dramas, don't we? Well, this was an action movie, and as such, it rates a 10. The directing was top notch (for an action movie) and the fight signs were great. If you are an MMA fan, and you like a little jiu-jitsu, then you'll love these sequences. The best part is you can actually see the fighting taking place, none of that "let's make you feel like you're there by bringing the camera too close and shaking it around while people fight" crap. You can actually see the martial arts in action, and it's good, solid, crisp stuff, very nice. I tell you, the directing was great as well. Everyone has a beef, and so did I, with two things. One, a remote/timer bomb in someones head (hey, its better than the "my wife and I are so happy, we're the perfect couple, someone killed her, now it's time for revenge" plot that fuels 99% of action movies.) Also, it's great to see North Korea as the bad guys. I mean, in real life, those guys are F@#@#$ nuts, so why aren't they in more movies? But really, having North Korean agents planted everywhere was a little ridiculous. Seriously though, as an action movie goes, 10/10. It was no Schindler's List, but for craps sake people, did you think it would be?
defucter When I first read the synopsis, I thought, "Are they serious?" So it sounds a tad far-fetched. So maybe more than a *tad. But overall, this was a decent action flick. The best ever? No. But better than many I've watched. It feels like a 24 type movie--when the school phone rang with the 24 scene-change ring-tone, I had to chuckle. This flick lacks Jack Bauer, but the characters are likable, and the actors did great with what they had to work with, though I've never heard of any of them. Many action actors can fight but they can't act. Not true with Matthew Reese. I haven't seen anything else he's been in, but he did a good job with his part. Jennifer Klekas was a hot damsel in distress and she kicked some a$$, too. Although the storyline could be improved to make it more believable, the lines worked with this story. But how many action flicks are all that believable anyway? If you like 24 or some of Jean-Claude's flicks or anything from the Die Hard franchise, you'll probably enjoy this movie. The action sequences were fast-paced and raw. Mostly hand-to-hand combat and not really any explosions. There was a blend of evasion, shooting, and mixed-martial arts. One realistic thing about this movie is the number of bad guys the hero took on simultaneously. It wasn't like a Chuck Norris film where guys stand in a circle holding their guns and only attack one at a time. A Navy Seal could have reasonably handled the amount of assailants that came at this guy. If you're looking for a deeper storyline or character development, keep looking. But enjoy this movie for what it is...a lone hero saves the day. Kudos to the cast and crew for putting together a decent flick on a presumably low(er) budget.
Teks9 Let me be clear, this is not the movie of the year but this is a decent action movie. Forget the storyline, the acting (which is below average), but for your time you will get: - Some very good fighting scenes: well choreographed, realistic, well paced and above all properly edited. Remember movies such as RE: Apocalypse where you couldn't tell which move was being performed by Ms Jovovich? Well this is the opposite, old style brutal fighting scenes. - A decent spec-op style intro sequence - A very beautiful red hair damsel in distress - One very angry muscular hero. That's it, so you are warned. Go watch it if you like a good "kill you in two moves" kinda film. Otherwise, hit the road.
