Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Rickting A bland news story. A dull protagonist. Screeching. Washed out shots of mildly creepy looking buildings. A sleep inducing lecture on demons. A misty eyed nun. More screeching. Crosses. Exorcisms so boring they make The Tree Of Life look like a fast paced action epic. Various cameras which have broken zooms. Annoying possessed women doing gymnastics. Darkened areas. Cursing. A hospital. An asylum. A church. A school. Random demonic possessions. Exposition. Whining. Scares which consist of people screeching and contorting and...that's it. A stupid finale which makes no sense. A car crash which represents the movie perfectly. A web link. These are the elements that make up The Devil Inside, a lame, laughably awful and utterly worthless mess. After many awful found footage movies, we finally come to the perfect piece of evidence for opposers of the genre. This is surely, undeniably one of the worst movies in a genre full of god-awful films ever. There isn't one scary moment in The Devil Inside. All it is are cameras zooming around as possessed people screech, curse, do gymnastics and fly around. That's literally it, with intermissions of boring characters sitting around and explaining the plot. TDI may have made over a hundred times its budget at the box office but unfortunately it is less scary than a kiddy coaster at a LEGOLAND theme park. TDI is one of the most insultingly lazy films ever and absolutely no-one was trying. Every single person involved was about as good at their job as a tortoise is at winning a 100m sprint. It is a series of horror conventions, stripped to their minimum and devoid of any character or depth, pasted together. There is no kind of purpose for the Devil Inside to exist, as it fails in every single department. Even the most loyal horror fan will be unimpressed by this tedious mess and it just isn't scary at all. Likely the worst film of 2012, this is only 80 minutes but feels like 180. The worst found footage ever. And I've seen Paranormal Activity 4.0/10
David Wyatt I've read reviews here that indicate this movie is the worst Horror movie of all time, I can only imagine these reviews come from people who don't watch a lot of horror films. While this is only an average film, it does have certain positive aspects that will keep you entertained for its short run time. Dealing with demonic possession, the film offers some scary moments but ultimately fails to deliver much context or sustained interest.I agree the acting was extremely bad from the majority of the cast, however the mockumentary style works well for the jumps that are present and gives it a reason to be put in front of an audience. If you're looking for a few cheap scares then this is for you, if you're looking for a horror film filled with mythology, acting and dialogue, then I'd look somewhere else.
ifoughtdalaw This movie should have been titled Sandman In Me cause I was ready to fall asleep 20 min in and reluctantly stayed awake to see it through to discover I wasted my time. Everyone giving a high rating must have terrible taste in "film".Awarded Worst Film -tied in third with Piranha 3DD - that should say it all... But, if you have the time to waist.... God's speed!!!! -Spoiler- 9-1-1 Call of Mother. News Footage of Crime. Daughter discussing with cameraman the story. Daughter visiting out of country to see Mother. Daughter speaking with priests who just so happen to do exorcisms on the side. Witness a random exorcism, Witness the mother's exorcism. Then lastly, Priest gets possessed, daughter then gets possessed, camera man gets possessed and all die. (This all happens within like last half hour of movie)
Leofwine_draca THE DEVIL INSIDE starts out as a promising 'found footage' style mockumentary, detailing demonic possession in much the same way as the (better) LAST EXORCISM. After a genuinely creepy opening segment, however, it gradually starts to fall apart and ends up being an ultra-familiar and, in the end, disappointing movie. The problem with the film is the story, or lack of it. It follows a group of rookie priests who perform various exorcisms, and the narrative is tenuously tied together by the presence of a pretty young woman who's attempting to help her mother, herself a victim of possession. The trouble is, it all plays out exactly as you'd expect, with nary a surprise along the way.It goes without saying that the two exorcism scenes are genuinely disturbing, but that's only because they slavishly copy the EXORCIST formula without adding much in the way of new stuff; it also strikes me that the limb-breaking stuff has been done before in THE LAST EXORCISM or elsewhere. And as the film gets on, it gets worse, until it ends up being just people running around and screaming instead of compelling viewing. It comes up short and abrupt at the end, reinforcing my opinion that the writers ran out of steam.
