BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
ToledoTrumpton If there is a genre "Teen Movie" this has to be absolutely the apex of that craft.I had to stop the movie three times because I was laughing so much I was crying. It may have been the three glasses of wine I had drunk, but I really think it would have been just as good sober. The cast nail there cheesy lines every single time. The script is spot on and I was entertained from the very beginning to the very end.For the record the three moments I had to stop the movie were.1) How do you think she feels. 2) He invented Karaoke. 3) I brake for werewolves. (ok I was three sheets to the wind by this point)If you don't enjoy this you have no soul - highly recommended.
Tina_V The Boy who Cried werewolf is a very enjoyable movie -- for adults and children alike. Proof to that is both my daughter and I were very entertained throughout the whole movie. There are plenty of very funny sequences, definitely an uplifting spirits plot. It has all the predictable pieces, being based on the Aesop's fable "The Shepherd Boy Who Cried Wolf", but was done in an unexpected way for the ending, which makes it not only very watchable, but pleasant and satisfying. Despite accent problems, and invented locations, to which most audiences may be oblivious, the entire production works well, and my daughter and I definitely recommend it!
lisaofshades I am writing this review after reading the "one star only" from a Romanian. I see why this can be seen as offending to them, but I don't think this movie should have been taken as an historical documentary. It wasn't meant to mock the culture. It was a friendly family movie with a lot of goofs and gags. The names are obviously made up, and there is a great joke about one that I never got tired of. I respect Romanians. I don't think Dracula was some nuts, I think he did what he had to do to make his country safer. If I wanted to see something accurate, I'd watch "Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula", but this movie wasn't meant to inform, but to entertain, a very warm way that actually makes you think. It was a sort of self parody of a legend distorting real facts. It was like entertainment above entertainment. It won an award, as a kid program. Emphasis on kid. This might contain spoilers: In the movie, we learn that even the kids who good around and seem to be running from reality can courageously face the facts and save the day when an important time comes, and they should be allowed to goof until then because it doesn't define who they can be when it truly matters, and should be taken seriously. Even if messing with people too much won't make you credible when someone will genuinely be in danger, so you shouldn't push it too far, and not all the time. There is a time and a place for everything.I also liked how they displayed that when given the chance without constant hammering on the head, even the most awkward nerd can blossom into a magnificent lady. But that beauty and self confidence isn't everything, taking oneself too seriously and believing that we are entitled to people as if they were things (or meat) isn't fun at all. There is beauty even in shyness, in even flaws, in simplicity, in natural beauty... someone will always find a way to find it heartwarming and will laugh with you, instead of at you. And it can be a very gorgeous guy who's way more sincere and kind, someone even better than what you thought you wanted. And who actually share those flaws that you thought made you unlovable and even love you for them.People cold and creepy can be extremely caring and reliable in difficult situation. They might try too hard to be taken seriously. But like people who don't enough, they can still meet half way with their differences, help each other find a balance and become life long friends.Fathers are entitled to have lovers and move on with their grief when they are ready, it doesn't make their previous love any less true, and children should allow them to find love again, people have big hearts and can love their children just as much when they find a lover, even better since they have support and more joy to offer. But a father should choose someone who won't endanger the kids. We mustn't be blind by loneliness and gesture of affections, sometimes they hide the most selfish and cruel intents.I didn't learn much about Romanian culture... and everything was made up... but it was portrayed as a warm place, rustic and relaxing, not some awful cold buildings that deny you the sun, deny you to breathe... warm people taking the time to live and to enjoy doing so... seeming creepy but oh so lovable in their differences. Even if this was all fake, it made me think "wow I would love to see that country even more". Simple ways than the hysterical material gain... I am utterly ignorant of that place and can get amused with pure absurdity, but in my heart, the warm feeling I got from seeing this movie, I believe that this part is accurate. The facts might not be, but I think they respected the spirit. And about wanting to go to America, this was just that one boy. He was predisposed to fall for her, like fate put them together. They never said that Romanians admire American and wish they were like them... the movie sure made me wish I'd go to Romania instead.I feel a bit offended when Canada is displayed with cops on horses (I wish!, we might have some but I never seen one) and some retarded people eating hot docs (yeah...) and unable to speak proper... and scratching their asses... (yeah...) ah~ the world would probably be a better place without stereotypes... But my day got way better with this movie! Enjoy, not as a documentary, not as a serious adult horror flick, but as a great warm family movie, with a great mix of gore and humor, and life lessons that can change shame into hope. The people who made this movie might not know how to make documentaries about Romania, but they made a hell of a great family movie, and they know how to teach kids good values.Enjoy ^_^PS: The fan of twilight will probably hate it too. Like: "What? The vampire lost? The werewolf is still half chained to the wall, don't run away just shoot! Oh man! What a terrible vampire movie!" Yeah, if you're a blond vampire bitch (she played her role wonderfully) you'll hate it too. Or a latex fetishist... her suit was just dreadful, as if they used loose garbage bags (But maybe that's what vinyl is supposed to look like... Anyway, Underworld wouldn't have been popular enough to have sequels if she wore this) XD But that's all those little silly details that made it so hilarious!!! At the second I heard the house keeper's name, I was hooked! Just enjoy it for what it is: A great kid movie to loosen up~ <3
sunnysunnydayday This is a great movie. It has a good plot, the casting is done well, and so are the digital effects-especially when Jordan turns back into a human being. But there are some mistakes, which are listed on the goof list. But what I enjoy is that they have found a great set, great actors-great movie. The werewolf special effects are the best, only we never get to see how the werewolves change their faces. I also like the stunts, which were greatly performed by the stunt doubles/actors. The actors have done great acting. On my TV for some reason it says it is a comedy, all though it is more of an horror movie. Overall, I think this is an amazing film and I hope it gets a better rating soon.
