Good story, Not enough for a whole film

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

TAUGHT IN COLD BLOOD is a serial killer cheapie suffering from the usual budgetary constraints but otherwise doing fairly well with the mildly interesting premise. It's quite well made, well shot, and well acted, not by the standards of a proper movie, but for the micro-budget sub-genre that it has a place in. The conflicted lead character has a measure of depth which is quite unusual and there isn't gore for gore's sake here. I appreciated the psychological angle of the proceedings although the latter romantic stuff is less interesting.
